The classic Shimano SPD pedals with easy cleat entry and clearance for shedding the mud. These are light and strong and what can be expected from Shimanos legendary quality. Excellent and Merlin has the best price on the worldwide web. I highly recommend these pedals.
Great pedal. Not much bad to say about it other than Price. Been using spd's for years without ever having to rebuild and they're bulletproof. If money is no object get these, otherwise it's the same thing as the M8000 or the older M540's. Just weight seems to be the only difference.
Very good pedals, SPD has been around for over 25 years and it is still one of the best pedals. After a season of use, you do have to pay attention to the play they develop.
Tremendous pedals. Came from Crankbrothers Eggbeaters and these have been much better. Strong positive engagement but still easy to get in and out of. Lose a little in weight but it's worth it for a better overall feel.
Tried many pedal systems, but am finally now back with an old reliable friend. Definitely 5 stars.
Love these. Use them for mtn bike, cross and road. The action is super clean. I came from using a set of 520s and these are far superior.
These were replacement for my XT M785 Trail pedals. Little weird at the beginning due to much smaller size. On the positive side much lighter and the sound when you click in is much snappier and i think these are also much easier to click in (foot hits just the right place everytime). :)
Top quality pedals. Never had any issues with these and have a few sets over the years on different bikes. Got these for just under 60 notes and they are a steal at this price.
Unbeatable pedal, light tough and great mud clearance.
I love these pedals. I've been using Shimano pedals since they first came out in 1990.
Haven't used it much yet, but better mud clearing then the my 20yo XTR level SPDs. My 20yo SPDs are still going strong so I hope these 9000 XTR SPDs last just as long!
Used many different mtb pedals over the years. Shimano just seems to have the best spd pedals. The XTR Race M9000 is no exception, light, solid and durable. I can't find fault with this pedal, flawless!
Every time I try another pedal, I come back to Shimano. These XTR Race M9000s are light, with a great all mtn platform.
These are my second set of XTRs. I can't imagine a more reliable pedal. I love them!
Expected nothing less than the best quality from Shimano... Smooth, light and the most durable of spd's on the market... Shimano have built upon the quality from the launch of their first over 20 years ago... As for Merlin, first class service as always... Top quality pedal, top quality retailer!
A nice upgrade over the 2014 model. Styling and mud clearance look nice. Despite the mixed reviews of these, I find them fantastic for singlespeed racing. They take much more impact than my Time Atacs... gave up on those. Merlin is my go-to supplier for Shimano bits
I thought replacing my older XTR pedals would amount to an insignificant gain, but these are truly spectacular. And did I mention, that Merlin's price was at least 20% lower than everybody else? I'm very satisfied.
Awesome pedals, I recently ditched all of my Eggbeaters on my MTB, cross bikes and a fixed gear commuter after years of faithful use. Fast wearing CB cleats dumped me off my fixed commuter in traffic and, though uninjured, I finally gave up on them. I am so happy to be back on Shimano pedals. The XTR have positive engagement, lower stack height, and I don't have to use that metal plate to protect the carbon soles of my shoes as you do with Crank Brothers. I immediately remembered why I liked Shimano pedals so much when I started riding all those years ago.
