- 60 grams lighter, per pair, compared to Ergo 3.
- ALL NEW Tecno 3 buckles independently adjust fit across the forefoot and toe.
- IMPROVED Vent Carbon Sole®: Same incredible stiffness with closeable vents.
- Adjustable Heel Retention Device® eliminates heel lift.
- NEW Comfort Fit insoles with memory foam for lightweight support.
- Lighter, more ergonomic Soft Instep Closure System® and padded tongue eliminate pressure points.
The key benefits of the Vent Carbon Sole are not only superior power transfer, because of its light weight and stiffness, but also warm weather comfort. The Vent Carbon Sole is designed with an integrated vent and air channels for heat dissipation and air flow. The vent leads to two longitudinal airflow channels molded into the carbon sole that direct air to perforations under the forefoot area (SIDI’s Comfort-Fit insoles have matching perforations for unimpeded airflow).
The vent can be opened or closed for 4-season comfort. The Vent Carbon Sole is handmade exclusively of carbon fiber in a weave pattern oriented at opposing angles that maximize stiffness while allowing for a small degree of controlled flex in the toe area. This carefully designed flex biomechanically relieves stress on the plantar tendon and helps promote circulation.
The Vent Carbon Sole features a standard 3-hole drilling pattern, printed 10 mm lateral and fore/aft cleat alignment scale as well as the Look Memory Eyelet for easy cleat alignment and replacement. To improve walkability, the Vent Carbon Sole is designed with replaceable polyurethane heel and toe pads.
For triathlon, the vent also serves as a water drain, dramatically improving foot comfort after a wet transition.

I have been wearing the SIDI Ergo 3 for the last two years and really like them. I went ahead and ordered the SIDI Wire Carbon from Merlin at a fantastic sale price. I love the shoes but there is a difference in the sizing between these shoes and the Ergo 3. The Ergo 3 fit me perfectly in the 45. I am a men's US10. The Wire Carbon feels a bit larger than the Ergo , both are 45. The tongue on the Wire Carbon puts pressure on the front of my ankle and is not very comfortable yet. I have about 100 miles on them so hopefully the tongue will soften . I left the original insoles in and was able to put Specialized Insoles on top of those and still had room to spare. I could not do that with the Ergo. I had to remove the original insoles from the Ergo to allow room for the Specialized Insole. When I removed the insole from the Wire Carbon and used the Specialized only , the shoe felt a bit loose.
I imagine the Wire Carbon will be comfortable with a thicker sock. I wear the thinnest sock I can find in the Florida extreme hot Summer.
So for me this shoe would probably be an ideal fit in the 44.5, whereas the 45 is ideal in the Ergo. Other than the difference in fit, this shoe is definitely better in tension adjustment - No Velcro straps and very easy to adjust while you are riding the bike.
Another excellent product from SIDI. I've always worn SIDI shoes and once you get the size correct everything is perfect. I've never had a reason to change brand. Service from Merlin is excellent as ever.
Got these to replace my Genius 5s. I read some reviews that recommended trying a 1/2 size smaller but this was not the case for me. 42 in the Wire fits exactly the same as 42 in the Genius. I'm still learning how best to adjust the fit. Compared to the Genius, the heel and forefoot can be dialed in better - i.e. a tighter fit, but without being uncomfortable. So, I tend to keep the main buckle on the loose side. They are better in every way, except that they are warmer and breath less.
Love them! Great looking shoe and design and colour. Comfortable as well
Fit and quality are great like all Sidi's I have had. I have not racked up many miles yet but so far so good. Great price and great fast delivery from Merlin.
The most comfortable cycling shoes I've ever had! ...if I wasn't happily married already I'd marry these shoes no questions asked!!
Excellent design, light weight and comfortable for long distance cycling.
Great shoes! Just the best. Plenty of adjustments to fit comfortably. Best shoes I have ever owned and the price is the best too!
FANTASTIC! Superb shoes, extremely comfy, custom fit is awesome. Sidi at their very best. well worth a punt.
Simply the best road shoes I have ever owned. I am normally size 9 (43) but went for 44 and they fit perfectly.
Best cycling shoes I have ever purchased. Extremely comfortable, light and hold feet and ankle firmly in place.
These shoes arrived quickly, are true to size, are a great price and once they are worn in, they should be very comfortable (I got a small blister on my ankle where they have rubbed, thicker socks should fix it).
GREAT SHOES DO BUY THE SIZE UP ON NORMAL. GREAT LOCKING SYSTEM GRIPS THE FOOT VERY WELL VERY HAPPY WITH THEM MAY TREAT MYSLEF TO A SECOND PAIR JUST IN CASE THEY GET WET!!!!!!
An excellent pair of cycling shoes. The best power transfer of any shoes I've ever worn.
