Mr MacLean What can I say Merlin Cycles? The piece de resistance of my order. Soundly packaged and protected post-disassembly ready for assembly. This was accomplished easily and quickly. I have not found a single blem, scratch or mark from either process so have one rather beautiful, light, fantastically red (always the fastest colour for racing bikes of course :-)) work of cycling art to show for it. Even in the XL size it feels feather-light yet looks and feels amazingly strong and paintwork is lustrous and thick. Anything other than a Campy gruppo is sacrilege on an Italian heritage name i.m.h.o. and Centaur kit is snappy, accurate and shifters feel like an extension of your hands they are so ergo! Even for an allegedly "endurance" frame the head tube is still rather aggressive in terms of shorter geometry but will have you grinning from ear to ear after a fast and responsive ride that I found, frankly urged me to just keep on going faster. Haven't ridden it for a longish ride yet but I reckon most would find it comfortable for a day's worth of use. 27.2m seatpost and 28mm tyres will take the sting out of any rough road frankly coupled with the absorption properties of the frame. Treat yourself, you won't regret it!
