Your stem has to resist flexing during sprints and accelerations, clamp securely to the fork and handlebar, and support your weight over significant impacts. It’s a difficult job, but the Service Course® SL stem is still able to combine strength, stiffness and reliability at a weight of only 120 grams (100 mm).
The Service Course SL has high-strength, 3D-forged construction, 7075 series aluminum and titanium bolts to deliver an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio while allowing for smooth lines to complement the aesthetics of modern frames.
We make our Service Course SL stems in seven lengths (70 mm to 130 mm in 10 mm increments) and two angles ( /- 6 degrees and /- 17 degrees) to meet any rider’s fitting needs.
We replaced the stainless steel bolts with titanium ones and use TORX® heads on all bolts for precision torque readings and ease of adjustment.
Every piece in the Service Course SL line is available in the standard gloss black with white logos, as well as a new Beyond Black color scheme with laser-etched black logos for a stealthy look.

I have been using Zipp stems for a while. I like them so much that I order this one for a new bike that I am building.
Stem looks beautiful, compliments my carbon bars, weight is competitive. The bolts are Torx design and won`t take an allen key. They are a better design but you need the right tool to fit them. (My topeak alien had one on it). I would definitely recomend the Zipp Course SL stem
This is my third Zipp Service Course stem. Great design and value
Excellent stem, well made and not too pricey.
Very light, very stiff and much more durable than carbon stems. It uses Torx bolts not allen bolts so it's worth making sure your multi tool has the right attachments. The stem comes with a cap that goes over a 4mm allen key though so it can still be fitted even if you don't have one.
Nice finish, like the use of Torx head fasteners
Great stem, very stiff, marginally heavier than other carbon items and at a great price. The finish is very good and looks great on the bike. It comes with an adaptor to tighten the bolts.
Mr s tye
Well made nice looking light stem, looks good with a Zipp handle bar. The best price and fast free delivery from merlin makes it a bargin
Anything that the Brownlees use is good enough for me! Same stem as Johnny uses on his Cboardman Air 9.8. Simple design, strong and good to look at. Highly recommended.
Really nice looking stem with quality finish. Looks expensive. Would prefer Allen Key rather than star bolts but recommended stem.
Beautifully finished and very good value. The high gloss finish is exceptional.
Easy to fit and adjust, very stiff but also comfy, Looks superb with a very high quality finish. way better than i could of thought.
Top class product.
