Endura are one of the few UK clothing companies to have developed a strong worldwide following in the super competitive Road, Triathlon and MTB clothing markets. Endura have supplied road kit for World Tour Team Movistar and manufacture arguably the fastest skinsuit around. They also produce some amazing kit for riding in the foulest of conditions in all terrains.
The Scottish brand have been chosen clothing supplier by numerous teams and top riders in Triathlon, MTB and Road Racing. Years of collaboration with experts in technical fields such as aerodynamics and bike fitting have led to Endura to be on the cutting edge of clothing technology developments. Where as most clothing companies focus on one type of bike riding, Endura have gone into all genres. By adopting the same plucky, maverick attitude and a whole lot of new thinking and approaches, they focus on making a product which is different and brilliant. Many of the products across Endura’s ranges are available in womens and childrens fit options.
For Endura, Mountain biking is where everything started. Founder, Jim McFarlane, was frustrated by not being able to find what he wanted. So he set about producing his own kit. Early MTB products brought success and popularity in new areas around the world, far from Scotland. Proving that clever design and high quality manufacturing are appreciated everywhere. A great example of this is the MT500 baggy shorts. Conceived for riding all year around on wet Scottish trails, they are now popular in all mountain biking areas of the world. The baggy shorts led to the development of the MT500 series range of riding kit.
Supplying the notoriously demanding arena of World Tour Teams on the road with clothing, gave Endura a platform from which to showcase the brand in the road cycling heartlands of Europe. Being clothing provider for Spanish Movistar team pushed the brand’s drive to higher levels of R&D, quality and innovation. Working with the Movistar World Tour Team also presented the opportunity to assist British rider, Alex Dowsett, when he broke the World Hour Record in 2015. Being at the sharp-end of aerodynamics in cycling then led to aerodynamics in cycling experts at Drag2Zero. This close collaboration resulted in the Encapuslator skin suit and QDC triathlon suit, both featuring SST – Surface Silicone Topography – 3D chevrons which affect airflow around the body.
As you might expect from a company producing high level road and mountain bike kit, Endura have a range dedicated to the ‘in-between-world’ of gravel riding. Endura’s GV500 range of clothing is aimed squarely towards gravel riding. Featuring lightweight, breathable, waterproof materials, the range brings the brand’s filthy weather know how to the gravel riding masses. The GV500 Reiver Bib shorts (below) feature some innovative extra carrying capacity, with mesh pockets on the thighs and on the side waist.
