Recently, Merlin have been lucky enough to pay a visit to one of our suppliers, Pon Bike. They keep us stocked with some of our favourite brands, including Santa Cruz, Reserve and Cervélo. Here’s what went on.
A bit about Pon Bike
Spanning over almost every cycling discipline, Pon Bike is seen as one of the strongest supply chains in the biking industry. While we only saw their UK distributor, they are in fact a global brand, spanning multiple continents.
The visit
From Merlin, members of staff across different departments took the trip to Yorkshire to check out their Sheffield-based shop. There, we were given a tour around their showroom as well as behind the scenes. With each model, we received an insight into the brand itself, understanding how each bike differs according to its specific use.
Santa Cruz
Despite only being a recent addition to our stock, Santa Cruz has been a favourite among our customers. During our visit to Pon Bike HQ we received exclusive looks over the Blurs, which have been particularly popular here at Merlin. Santa Cruz’s new Valla also featured during the trip, as we got to know their new and improved battery and motor system. The tour even included a look at downhill racer Laurie Greenland’s custom world championships V10 as seen above.
Cervélo
Road bikes are what we know Cervélo for best for, however, our trip to their shop in Sheffield gave us a look over some of their other bikes, too. These included both gravel and TT bikes; models of bikes we are hoping to be able to supply soon. A look over these bikes soon gets you wanting one; not only are they some of the lightest but also some of the most innovative.
