SP-01 presents a compact shape with a rounded tip. Agile, lightweight and strikingly sporty, the saddle is conceived and specially designed with a “short-fit” shape. This specific shape accompanies major technical improvements such as the suspension link movement: an exclusive technology already present in the SP-01, consisting of two rear sections which are independent from each other. The extraordinary level of comfort offered by the saddle comes from the movement of the two sections, which adjust to the movement of the hips, thus guaranteeing greater freedom of pedalling, lateral flexion and shock absorption.
The benefits of this technology and the slimline shape of the saddle mean the Asolo-based brand establishes a new cutting-edge paradigm in the matter of saddles: SP-01 is actually geared to a new style of cycling, dynamic and assertive, while remaining the perfect synthesis of performance, comfort and style.

Thomas Saddles are a very personal thing but I've got on with saddles with a decent cut out for a few years now. Perhaps because the rear part of the rails attach to a plastic platform below the main shell, this was especially comfortable - no hot spots on rides 4hr+ like there can be with some saddles where the rails attach. For comparison, other saddles I've found comfy before this one include the Bontrager Aeolus, Giant Connect, Fabric Scoop (flat) and Fabric Line (shallow). Bought another one pretty much after one ride to go on another bike it was that comfy. Strikes that fine balance between a flexible shell and amount of padding - I find saddles with a flexible shell preferable to loads of padding, so long as they don't sag under rider weight. Highly recommended!
