Mr de KlerkI like these brakes even though I haven't done a proper ride. I've done around the block ride after installing, nothing hectic but initial impressions are good. Works well with the Shimano Claris R2000 shifters. They are pricey, must admit. But here in South Africa nobody sells mini-v or cantilevers (Everything is disc related) so i had no choice but to order these for my intended build. So far no regrets, work well, look good and the clearance with 700x35c looks good. Looks like I can get wider tires in, I will explore that. Braking performance is seems good, I'm sure with some good pads it can be even better but standard ones work well for me now. Shipping of my entire order to South Africa was good, 6 days or so. Some local suppliers tend to take longer to deliver stuff. haha

Adam BarnesWow, these brakes are just something else! They look incredible, are easy to fit and maintain, and the stopping power is just tremendous...which is the most important thing really! Well worth the investment over something cheaper, as these are the best you'll get.

Mr PulfordFantastic upgrade for my cx bike from the standard shorty 4s. These were easy to fit with fantastic stopping power. They do require a bit more lever pull but they instill much more confidence when braking. They work well with the shimano ultegra shifters.
MarkoReplaced my cantilever brakes set for these V brakes. Have used them on two outings so far and ......... wow, such better stopping power and hence more confidence on bike. Bike is a Specialised Crux 2012.

BazzaBuilding the CX bike for road use & the common problem of canti performance was a real consideration. l took time to read a number of reviews about these CX9's before purchase and have to say they were accurate these brakes are every bit as powerful as you need without the fork chatter all this with Road STI levers. They are 'grabby' compared to some cantis but happy to live with this. For 'cross' use the rim block brake clearance would be less than ideal in soft conditions but this was not my primary concern. Great service from merlin getting these delivered overnight
