Sizing Information for Shimano Shoes
Replacing my first pair that were worn out. Ride in the winter in snow and below zero tempertures. Keeps my feet warm & dry.
These are excellent. Comfortable & sturdy, but like most shimano shoes you need to order a size bigger than normal. Excellent quality, and the sole is more appropriate for the winter than the RW80 model.
Well built, warm and they look like they'll last. I have a few friends who bought them and couldn't speak highly enough so I was convinced. Very pleased.
Excellent boot for cold and wet weather riding, I've been on many 25 mile+ off road rides wearing these boots and while mates have had cold and wet feet mine have stayed completely dry and warm despite the boots being thick with wet mud. They don't look anything special but who cares in the winter. They took a little breaking in with the higher ankle covers and feel a little heavy compared to road shoes but lets face it, these boots are all about keeping warm and dry so you can get out and enjoy the ride. Expensive for my pockets but I'd buy these again.
Best price I was able to find on the Internet hands down and a great bike store to boot!! Shipping was incredibly fast- within five business days to Nebraska- will definitely order from these guys again!
I bought these boots to replace a previos pair of shimano boots that were about 10 years old I can't remember the model number but they finally mostly gave up.
These boots are great, can't fault them. I have had them on in -5 with thin socks on out for about an hour and my feet were warm. Also had them on a long day trip with a fair bit of walking with some bogs and river crossings wearing a pair of seal skins and my feet and the socks were both dry.
Size wise I am a 44 which fits perfect and wearing sealskins is fine, not tight.
I definatly recommend them.
Difficult to believe that the boots can be so much warmer with no significant thermal material inside - can't be just the lack of ventilation panels - but they really work. A little awkward to get feet in to but that is a small price to pay for the function of the boots. You may feel a little pressure on the front of the ankle from the cuff but nothing significant. I found the cleats need positioning as far to the inside as possible to avoid the boots rubbing the crank arms at best positioning - just hope that doesn't add to knee issues.
The thread in the sole plate stripped itself when trying to reposition the cleats after first ride but Merlin and Shimano were very prompt in sending a replacement pair of shoes. Have really missed them while waiting for replacements!
Fantastic boots these are my 3rd shimano goretex boots the last ones lasting 3 years and those only let water in due to misuse by me (power washing etc.) don't think I could face a British weather without these, no more cold or wet feet they are a thing of the past, at this price a complete steal. Great service from merlin, if only other online shops were as good. Merlin is now my default shop for MTB equipment.
Have not really worn this shoes for a ride yet but am encouraged by the reviews received. Actually had a specialized defroster but bought this on the strength of reviews. However I can commend Merlin Cycles on a good service in getting the shoes to me in good time. They were good value as well.
Another great product from Shimano. You just screw your cleats in the bottom and off you go. They keep your feet, warm and dry and as they are waterproof, you can hose them down after a long muddy ride. At this time of year they are a great investment, there is nothing worse than cold feet !
Great fit, very warm and the best ankle seal of any winter/cold weather SPD boot. A word of warning, I usually need size 45 for shoes and had to get size 47 in Shimano to fit properly. So make sure to buy a size (or two) up from normal.
Comfiest, warmest and most waterproof shoes I've had in 25yrs MTBing! Only downside is sizing faff (order a size larger) 9/10 -mark lost for letting in water, but it was after an hour of torrential rain and flood(worst conditions I've ever encountered-ever)
Good cycling shoes wet and muddy weather. Waterproof boots keep your feet warm autumn weather. Works great northern European (Finland) autumn and spring weather.
I previously owned an earlier version of these MW02 I think, and these are a far better shoe, certainly better looking and easier to put on and take off.
I haven't used them in extreme cold weather yet (Manchester in September), but have used them in the wet, and so far so good.
Sole tread sticks like the proverbial in mud during hike a bikes, and now they have an option for adding studs to the front of the shoe.
Nice stiff sole and very comfortable to ride in, I have ridden in them for one ride over three hours and not had a problem.
Other rides have been my commute in the Manchester Summer, so ou can imagine the soaking they have had!
Any criticism of the shoe? No.
The best shoes i ever had, i can
Perfect. Feet are now dry and warm
