The 10 British riders in this year’s Tour de France

It was looking like nine riders but then Alex Dowsett made a late appearance. Brits on tour at le Tour!

TDF-GBIn alphabetical order they are…

Mark Cavendish (Etixx-QuickStep)

Steve Cummings (MTN-Qhubeka)

Alex Dowsett (Movistar Team)

Chris Froome (Team Sky)

Peter Kennaugh (Team Sky)

Luke Rowe (Team Sky)

Ian Stannard (Team Sky)

Geraint Thomas (Team Sky)

Adam Yates (Orica-Greenedge)

Simon yates (Orica-Greenedge

What results can we expect?

For the main jerseys, 2013 winner Chris Froome is obviously in win a big shout for the overall win. Mark Cavendish should be all set for grabbing the green sprinters jersey, especially now that key rival Marcel Kittel isn’t racing.

Alex Dowsett will be gunning for the opening time trial and to start the second day wearing the iconic yellow jersey. And you never know, Steve Cumming might do okay on the time trial too.

Most of the rest of the Brits are part of Team Sky and as such will be duty bound to work for Chris Froome. Should Froome exit early on due to injury or something (like last year) then there could be individual stage wins up for grabs for the likes of Geraint Thomas and Peter Kennaugh.

We all hope that Adam Yates goes ballistic and wins a stage at some point too. Maybe a mad breakaway?

What do you think?
