One ride so far. Temperature was 8°C or thereabouts, which is too warm for these gloves. Suited more towards 0°C. Good fit, sizing is as expected. Pleased with purchase.
Just tested. Awesome gloves: warm, light, comfortable. tactile, great design - they wrap superbly around your wrist. Can't fault them and can't believe the price I paid for them. Only possible drawback is durability: the outer material is a bit soft, so I'm not too sure how long they will last. On size: I've read others comment that they size small. I am normally a Large in gloves and took a chance on a Medium (last size available, thought I'd gift them to my daughter) and I found I could use them without problem ( only a tiny bit small on one finger). So I'd say go with your usual size. Size Medium is definitely a Medium, not a Small.
Wow, these are warmer than I expected. Snug fit with nice inner fleece lining. I took a chance on the sizing and it paid off so they fitted the same as other pairs I have in that size.
I have not actually had to use them yet as winter here in Johannesburg has not been cold enough so far. I hope I get a chance soon...
Very warm and comfortable. Solid gloves that I will certainly be using for a few years.
Great value at this price and as someone else pointed out they are quite a small fit. Definitely order one size larger.
Very snug fit, I'm normally a Medium so in these gloves probably go for Large. They look well made and are warm. Not tried in rain yet although I don't think they're suppose to be waterproof. Good value overall

Output at -3 zero and my hands are very warm, very good gloves and at a cheap price
Cycle down to 0 degrees at a high intensity kept my fingers warm. Can feel the levers fairly well too
Have been wearing the gloves during the cold spell. Work really well above 5 degrees. Have had to wear under gloves below this temperature. Very comfortable and great price
The gloves are exactly as described, they are really warm and windproof. I'm perfectly satisfied.
Good value warm gloves with good dexterity and grip. Have been using them for commuting and am happy with them. Not been in heavy rain yet but they are certainly fine for showers.
The glove name 'Siberian' does not seem to be suitable for sub-zero temperatures. In my experience, it is just good to use at 3 degrees C or higher. And because this glove size is a little small, I bought one size larger than my existing gloves. Good fit. Thanks to the Velcro strap, it feels good to wrap my wrist. The tip of the forefinger and the middle finger are anti-slip to help with shifting and braking. There is leather between the thumb and the forefinger, so the hand holding the lever is less tired. As such, Merlin Cycles sells very cheaply, even though it's a quality winter glove, so I bought another pair and presented it to my youngest son. Of course he is very pleased and is using it well for winter training.
Good set of winter gloves. A little small so order a size bigger. Excellent value
Excellent winter cycling and XC skiing gloves.
These seem to be a good quality and warm cycling glove. I've worn them on rides at around 2-3 degrees and they performed well. Can't vouch for how they perform in the wet. Great value at the offer price.
Excellent gloves in cold weather! I never thought I'd see the day when my hands were too warm. In 6c, wet and windy my hands were toasty warm. Even worn wet they are still warm. Bargain price, great Merlin service as ever.
Mr Le Fevre
I'd been meaning to buy these gloves for several years, but they were unavailable. Now Merlin sell them, and at a reduced price. They kept my hands warm yesterday when riding at 5C. For me, that`s remarkably good, I normally need bulky ski gloves when riding in that temperature. One word of warning. I usually find that small to medium gloves are a good fit. These are medium, and they`re very snug indeed. So if in doubt, get the next size up.
Very warm and good fit. Comfortable to wear in cold morning. Very high quality. Highly recommended.
Nice gloves, can survive 0 degree Celsius, you need to wear inner gloves when it becomes colder
Great gloves!! First ride the temp. started at 29 degrees and ended at 39. Hands never got cold.
Good gloves for cold but not baltic days. Comfortable and well made.
A really well fitting product, with a decent length of cuff that covers the wrist bones. Whilst not a sub-zero glove, they do the job in the present cold temps. So far, very pleased with the product.
The gloves are well made and reasonably warm but struggle to keep hands warm below 5 degrees. They are a very snug fit.
Excellent gloves for the price warm down to below freezing and a very comfortable glove to ride in
Comfortable down to zero degrees then windchill will cut through fingertips after 2 hours. Not advertised as waterproof but stay dry after heavy showers. Well made. Will not work with mobile phone.
Great, warm gloves
A good value for money winter glove. Not the best in terms of quality or warmth, but that is reflected in their economic price. I will probably buy some more when these are worn out.
Wonderful gloves. Great in all weather
G P Tognarelli
Very warm - just the job for winter riding in the Lakes.
Great gloves for the money, would need a liner glove for anything below zero.
Small fitting but build quality is great and they have a nice reflective 3m pattern for indicating on the road
Good warm set of gloves, slightly long in the finger, but overall a good set
Well made glove, but although I have only a medium sized hand the fingers are too tight, even after purchasing the large size. I am not sure I will be able to wear them. Perhaps someone in the family will.
Not too bulky but nice and warm.
I suffer with my hands in the cold, these have kept me warm at -1 at Christmas where there was also a big windchill
Great quality and keep you warm to around zero
Good for down to 6-7 degrees - well made. Snug fitting on a large.
Purchased these winter gloves in a summer sale, so haven't been used in the cold yet. Using the fitting guide medium was the right size
Great value for money, very warm, yet to wear in the rain.
They are a good fit and warm
I usually need a Medium or Large glove size and I ordered Large. Still too small. Otherwise, they appear to be fine (and warm) gloves for winter biking.
Not for Very cold but still good gloves. I am usually a Medium and bought a Large. go AT LEAST one size up.
These gloves are well made and have good grip and adequate reinforcement in the right places. However, sizing was difficult for me. In other brands of gloves that I have bought I am normally a medium so that is what I ordered. When they arrived I couldn't get my hands in to them so I sent them back for a large. As usual the service from Merlin was excellent and they arrived exceedingly promptly.
Once again, even in a large, the gloves were exceedingly tight. I contemplated sending them back for an extra large but I judged that the fingers would be far too long as they are slightly long in the large.
I decided to stick with them and have worn them a few times road biking and mountain biking. They are adequately warm but they have not yet been tested in sub-zero temperatures. I have washed them once with my other cycling gear on a 30 degree, low spin wash programme and they came out fine. The three stars is purely because of the fit.
Great fitting and feel to these gloves, very good so far in the cooler temperatures
The gloves are very good, hot but not to hot. Nice in light rain, but not tested an a heavy rainy day.
