johnHaving removed my old cassette I realised that the alloy freehub body was in a sorry state so I replaced it with a steel one in the hope (pardon the pun) that it would be more durable if a little heavier.
Mr TalbertUsual Hope quality. This was bought as a replacement for an aluminium free hub to see if it avoids the problem of the sprockets cutting notches.
PeterPerfect fit on my Mono RS wheel. Changed from Canpag to Shimano in seconds flat.
TimmyPAfter watching a quick YouTube video, just pulled off the old freehub and slid on the new, making sure to seat the rubber seal. Easy. Good product from Hope. Only issue is that this is way louder than my old one so it is pretty much impossible to chat whilst freewheeling!!
Mr PriestleyHope kit is quality but expensive. Surprisingly easy to fit too. Worth the money as it has probably extended the life of my wheels significantly!
Mr RumbleEasy to fit. Fitted to Pro2 Evo with Shimano 10 speed XT cassette. Worked first time, straight out of the box.
COLLINSPerfect upgrade to my evo 2 wheels. Much better than the aluminium freehub
Mr MooreA quality piece of engineering, as you'd expect from Hope. Bought to replace the freehub on my Hope Pro2 Evo hubs that have covered over 10,000 miles... once you realise how reliable the Hope hubs are, there is no real choice to be made!
coignaSolid freehub, slipped right onto my Hope Pro 2 Evo hub, and my SRAM PG-990 cassette slipped right onto that. Can't ask for better quality craftsmanship than Hope!
Uppitty UppAs always, Hope components are spot on in reliability. The rear hubs I bought came with the 11 speed mtb/10 speed road freehub body. While I was upgrading to the 11-speed road one anyway, I figured I might as well go for the harder-wearing steel version for my commuting cross bike. Great product, easily serviced with replacement readily available. Undoubtedly a little on the expensive side, but let's hope it outlasts an Ultegra one.
SmythDoes exactly what it should, though it is not cheap. Bought the steel version as the original alloy body was chewed up. Hope this one lasts better.
Andrew KarreDead easy to install. Flawless performance thus far.
DraperThe usual Hope high quality, very easy to fit, changed from a XD driver to a standard one in under a minute.
Mr WilliamsonGreat product! Slightly heavier than the alloy version, however they don't chew up the same and seem to last much better!!
Mr DUNDERDALEExcellent quality as usual from Hope, replacing my 3.5 yr old freehub after many miles of winter riding too - only actually needing to replace after losing one of the springs adter a relube inspection tut
Mark CGreat quality item as always from Hope. Came pre-greased and easy replacement for an alloy hub that was damaged by steel cassette but that's to be expected with heavy use. Best price and quickest delivery I've ever experienced!
Mr GannonI purchased the steel freehub to replace An aluminium one which although lighter was too soft and the cassette sprockets were digging into it. Unfortunately its as loud but should be more robust.
GrzegorzDoes exactly what it says on the tin. Comes loaded with new bearings. Bought to replaced the standard aluminium body damaged by the loose sprockets of my road cassette. Hoping this one will last forever :) 4* only as this is expensive item ... but we bikers are definitely worth it :)
Mr KauppilaI bought the HUB528 alloy version, which is indeed 11-speed compatible. If you are as skeptical and confused about 11-speed compatibility as I was, Hope has a website to clarify it: http://www.hopetech.com/11-speed-compatibility/ The merlin cycles product shot does not show the "pocket machined at the bottom of the spline" for 11-sp compatibility, but if you buy the HUB528 hub, it is there. I wish this were available in stainless steel, but as far as I know this is your only choice. I give 4 stars because it's so expensive, and I think this should come standard with Pro2 evo hubs and not require an upgrade.
Mr JacksonExcellent quality part and easier to replace than than a tyre!
Mr PetrieFantastic bit of kit, a machining work of art! Perfect match for my Pro 2 Evo running 11 speed. Very pleased with it.
Mr SewellPurchased this freehub body when I upgraded to 11 speed on the CX bike. Simple installation onto my Pro 2 Evo hub. Top quality as expected from Hope. The body material seems to be better than the gold coloured 10 sp body. Time will tell as to whether it gets bite marks in it. Love the fact that I can now still use the same wheelset on my 11 sp setup
Mr poulterHopefully it is harder than the ally one, heavier mind, but fingers crossed. Nice straight forward fitment.
Mr MCCORMACKBought item from Merlin due to good price, free delivery and available stock. Recieved correct item next day. Well done Merlin
Mr JenkinsGreat piece of British Engineering and silky smooth. Doddle to fit.
Mr DaviesI've used Merlin Cycles for may years purchasing complete bikes, components and cycling clothing all dispatched in less than 24 hours and at the best price. My recent purchase Hope Pro 2 Evo Freehub Body was no exception, arrived within 1 working day and fitted to my bike that evening. As with all Hope products the quality is superb and works faultlessly. Will be buying from Merlin again. Cheers Guys.
