Stu SpenceBought this as an update to my old Vision 4 unit and what a difference! Hope have taken their well engineered and solid light, reduced it in size and improved the mounting system whilst making the light brighter for longer and providing a useful battery indicator too. There is a slight strobe effect but only occasionally noticeable on the low levels. Found myself on a rarely used trail in the woods on a dark wet night but this wasn't a problem with the beam of daylight ahead of me. The beam has a useful spread rather than a tight bright spot with little light around the perifery. Great bit of kit backed up by Hope's great after sales service. Good value for money too.
Mr JonesVery pleased, having read reviews works excellently mounted on the bars. Service from Merlin excellent
MaxFantastic light. Worked incredibly well for some night mtb’ing. Battery lasted longer than I expected and the light gave great cover and lit the track well. I paired with a headlamp and it was an absolute treat
MalcolmThis light is excellent and well engineered., it comes with everything you need. Typical Hope.
Mr SchotThis is my third Hope light the battery with the charge indicator is great and the different colours for the different beam settings on the light are excellent
Mr VedanGreat quality. Recommended by a friend that rode with his hard for 5 years before wrecking the cord. Says thats all he uses. And maybe one extra light just in case for a backup if you rip or wreck your cord. Hope Tech products are all bomb proof
Mr GI use mine for off road/fell running. Have had other head torches but nothing compares to this. It is simply brilliant. I hear and read runners saying you get used to viewing obstacles in 2d and I think why? Why would you do this when you can run with a hope in perfect 3d, no problems, no obstacles. It basically turns the area around you into daylight so you can train at night as if it was day. I wear the battery in a bum bag as it would be too heavy, as in my opinion, on the head harness. This is no problem. I cannot recommend this product enough and has transformed me from ' I must get back from work to run in the daylight' in winter to 'no problem I will just run in the dark with the hope r4'
JW - CourchevelTurn night into day, I bought this to go with the Hope District + and run the 2 lights via the splitter cable. I was surprised at the small size of the battery back as it slips in nicely within the front triangle of the frame up by the headstock. The light itself is also compact and with its mounting bracket is very tidy up on the bars. The light is AMAZING - the spread of the light is really usable, the colour indicator power/mode selector button shows which light mode you are, (a nice touch). To be honest I just switch between the Medium and High modes and can ride really confidently both on and off road - battery life is really good and exceeds the official claimed specs. This is a really good quality piece of kit and certainly exceeded my expectations. There again it is made by Hope...
Mr HicklingFantastic Light. I have it mounted on my bars and find it gives an amazing light spread. The battery indicator is very handy and after a 3hr ride (in low mode for climbs) the battery was 3/4 charged. The bar mount is well crafted and the light stays in position even in the rougher stuff. The 4 cell battery is probably a little heavy for me to mount on my helmet but it would be perfect in a hydration pack. The mounting strap for the battery pack is light and while its not the heaviest duty type I've seen it keeps the battery secure. I'm extremely happy with the light output on this light as well as the exceptional craftsmanship in the product. Bottom line is I'd buy this light again.
AshleyAmazing first impressions. This has a great spread and it shows not just where you are going but where you want to go. Hope have really made a good job of this the battery pack is an aluminium shell. Quality detents on the buttons offers a great range of modes. The led unit virtually weighs nothing. I don't think id be buying anything other than this 100% trust in this light and its made only a few miles from where I'm from.
Mr McEachanI upgraded from the hope vision 4 led. Not a great deal brighter but much lighter when used as a head torch. Great design and reassuring feeling the hope will look after me if anything goes wrong.
RichardBomb proof, great build quality and service.
Mr OsborneUsual Hope quality. Coverage is a good balance between width and distance - it's not a tight beam and better for it.
RaymondBought this as an upgrade from my old R4 light. This has more power, is a whiter light that is nicely focused and avoids the slightly hazy centre of its predecessor. Comes with a clamp that fits up to 35mm bars as standard. Battery life brilliant and the illumination on the switch is excellent as is the battery level indicator on the battery
patExcellent light. Used it on a 3 hour cycle on low setting and 1 green bar used on battery. Nice beam spread. Not too wide and distance is ok. Build quality top notch. It is costly but worth the money for what it is. The battery is a tad heavy so would need to be carried in bag on handlebar. Plus cars dim when they see the light. Overall a great product.
Mr SchuesslerAmazing light, as good as the more expensive Lupine lights in my riding group. MerlinCycles as good as always, rapid delivery and good prices.
Mr CopelandWonderful product. Quality workmanship, great performance.
ChrisFantastic replacement for a much loved Hope Vision 2, the twin 2cell option go as great flexibility and the light is very bright, the new bayonet bracket is solid and simple to use, makes switching to headtorch mode very quick and easy, the battery level indicators are a must so it's good to see these as well as the illuminated power button, although a segmented indicator maybe easier to use than trying to remember what all the different colours mean. Overall a fantastic lighting system, for all types of riding, with a great beam.
