StuartGreat brakes. You'll need a spare barb and a tool to cut (&hold!) the hose. They come with the brake levers separate, pre fitted with olives. I purchased the BH90 olive/insert (barb) as extra items. Mine came with finned pads. Upgrading from 2015 XT brakes meant that I needed new ISPEC adaptors ...

Mr BrownBought these from Merlin as they were offering the best price at the time. These were to upgrade a recent dual suspension mtb and they’re great. Much better stopping power and easy to install.
Mr Hebert-TrudeauThese brakes are very good but not perfect. They come pre-bled with the inserts already in the hoses but you inevitably have to buy new ones since you will have to shorten the hose during the install since it's too long, even for the front one. So this is a negative for me. Now, the bleeding procedure is quite simple and mineral oil is preferred to DOT fluid but it's very difficult to get every last bubble of air even with some advanced mechanic skills. Again, another negative for me but you eventually get rid of all the air but it's long. Then, the lever blade tends to rattle a bit when riding hard, which can be a negative if you really care but I don't. It's just something I never encountered with Sram or Magura brakes. Also, the pad contact screw doesn't seem to do anything really so just don't care about it really. Now, the positive: they perform superbly when properly set and the lever ergonomic is perfect. A one-finger brake is so much easier on these brakes compared to other brakes on the market and it's much easier to get the correct fit for you. When it comes to rotors, I used them on Sram Centerline rotors and they do brake very hard, no compatibility issue there. Conclusion: they could be perfect but I prefer them to Sram brakes and every mechanic knows how to work on them so it's a safe buy. 4 stars out of 5.

Mr Kiddquality set of brakes and a very good price from Merlin. Came with finned pads which was a nice surprise. Hoses haven't been fitted to levers so easy enough to shorten. The olive's haven't been crimped so can be re-used but a word of warning there's no spare inserts supplied. I managed to cut the ones already fitted out of the off-cuts of hose, so got round it but seems a bit of a ball ache for the sake of a couple of quid.
anonGreat set of brakes, upgraded from an old set of SLX that had a wandering bite point, these bedded in super quickly and I'm loving them. They come with finned pads despite the picture and they were pre-bled - attaching the lever to the hose was super simple. My only issue was that they don't come with any spare olives so i've had to order some before I can cut the hoses down.
Mr BentoWhat can I say, shimano knows how to build brakes! I switched from m9000 to these m8100 and they are more powerful in every aspect. The color is great, the feeling of the brake is great, and being able to know your break is there when you need a handful of it is priceless!!

Mr humphreysReplaced my old sram brakes with these as they were 12 years old. Brought the braking on my fischer hifi upto modern day which is great. Very easy to fit and bleeding was simple. Did need to modify my gear (1x11 shimano) to fit but minor thing. Love the frame of my bike so this has helped extend its life.
