Shimano Ultegra SM-RT800 Ice Tech FREEZA Centrelock Rotor - WITHOUT LOCKRING
- The clad steel / alloy / steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50 deg C. When used with Ice Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300 deg C, this provides great improvements in performance all round
- FREEZA rotors allow the alloy core to extend out from the braking surface as a fins to the Centre-Lock mount adapter to providing added cooling
- Ice Tech rotors achieve long pad life, less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion
- Rotors are durable lightweight and rigid, using the proven Shimano Centre-Lock system giving increased strength and security with an easy set-up
- Precision cut and drilled braking surface improves pad clearing while aiding cooling under high load
- Large alloy spider is a highly rigid and lightweight support for the rotor surface
- Super polished braking surface gives excellent braking performance
- WITHOUT LOCKRING
Mr Taylor Great product with usual high Shimano quality.
Davy Lightweight and true, easy fit with centrelock.
Mr Davison Light and true, came with no need to adjust. Works great. Merlin is fantastic for processing and delivery of quality items.
Cyclemoremiles Great value rotor i can’t tell the difference between them and the Dura ace ones.
OLIVER Great braking performance.
Mark Look great and provide consistent braking
Mr Wright For the weight these are the best rotors out there. And they look sweet!
Mr Melvin Love the look of these rotors even if the 'ice tech' is overkill for my terrain. They could possibly improve brake pad life even if you aren't doing long descents..who knows
Brian Works as described, noticeably better than SRAM rotors.
Mr Hall Great braking performance from a nice looking disc
Mr burgess quick delivery - easy install with centre lock onto hunt aero 30 wheelset. usual shimano excellence
Kevin As you expect from Shimano... Quality.
Dr. Bob, from Googleville, CA, USA It's a joy to have nice new brakes: rotors and pads. Th rotors seems to last pretty well with resin pads, but those pads didn't make it to 3000 km.
jlc73 Have used this rotor for several years now. Great stopping power and cooling is excellent even on Alpine/Mountain descents.
George A very well manufactured rotor. Great prices and service from Merlin, thank you.
Roger Bought to fit to new Hunt carbon wheels due to arrive soon. Experience with them fitted to Mavic Ally wheels is good so expect the same at least
Mark Lightweight, highly-engineered disc brake rotor. Extremely easy to fit, and look great on my spare set of wheels.
Tony I know they work well as this set are replacing an old set which lasted impresively well in all conditions. They look good too!
Tony Light, look good, Stop quick. These are replacing a used set which lasted impressively well in nasty conditions.
Ian Replacing older shimano rotors, these work very well, so far they seem to be fairly silent, have improved bite and the cooling fins get very hot so I guess that means they work as claimed.
Chris Merlin Cycles is ALWAYS my go to source for all things bikes. The discs are a perfect match for gravel bike second wheel set. Excellent service, great prices and free USA shipping. What more is there?
Mr Mc Donald Again great value for money look great on the bike and they stop you on penny. Done about a thousand Kms with them and no sign of wear yet.
Luc Needed centerlock rotors for a new set of wheels and opted for the Ultegra. I'm not planning on doing extremely long descents where the cooling fins will be necessary but Merlin had a great special on these and they were not that much more expensive than the entry line offering. They look cool, bedded in quickly and are lighter than the basic disks. the best quality/price/weight balance on the market in my opinion.
O Timothy Great disc rotor, and great price. A cinch to put on, and wear well.
Mr Zablan Excellent rotors at a very good price.
MJG Reliable, light and robust. Stand up to repeated heavy use as you'd expect from Shimano.
Ryan Gravel Purchased the 160mm rotor for the front wheel of my gravel rig. Easy to install with center lock system and no issues centering on brake caliper. Solid braking so far. Most stores seemed to have this item on backorder, but Merlin had them in stock with a great price to boot.
BB Exactly as advertised and with the lock rings. Definitely quiets the braking process on 8000 level calipers
Kofi D A great upgrade to the 105 rotors that came with my bike.
Myrkle These rotors are quite nice, the finish details are very nice, but more importantly they stop the bike with no fuss.
Mr Rouleau Easy to install. Great breaking power.
Mark Not only do they look great on the bike they do the job in all conditions
Alex Rotors are easy to fit (though no idea if I've actually tightened them to 40Nm!) and stop the bike.
Mr Laird Excellent discs. A bit more stealth than the black Dura-Ace versions. But again, quick delivery from Merlin. Check what size you need for your frame. Most road frames seem designed for 140mm at the rear. If you want to run 160mm then get the adapter that merlin sell.
Dr Hale First class disc, well cooled for long descents
Nic. No issues with discs, just as described.
Can't fault.
sinnett177 Stunning rotors with straight out of the box performance. Be aware you do need quite a deep HG cassette removal tool to fit these. Mine was a tad too shallow, luckily by LBS had a deeper tool which sorted it. Happy with these, would recommend.
Steve Very easy to fit and bed in with old pads.
As for whether they cope better with hard braking from high speed on long descents, I couldn't comment, I'm a very cautious descender that typically alternates between short squeezes of front and rear brakes!
One star deduction for rotor rubbing from time to time, suggesting they don't run true, but oddly often remedied by pedalling out of the saddle for a few seconds.
Mr WONG Beautiful rotors. Have plenty of confidence when going down rapid decents.
Mr Perry Awesome rotors! You really can't go wrong with Ultegra products.
