Wellgo MG1 Magnesium Platform Pedals
Money-to-weight this is probably the best value item you can buy it you want to save weight on your bike.
- Now available in Powdercoated Black, new Pearl White, XTR Grey, orange, purple or green colour.
- These sealed bearing pedals have an original DX feel but have a slightly larger surface area.
- Pins are replaceable.
- Light magnesium body, although not a strong as aluminium. If you break pedals or do pedal grinds we'd advise an alloy pedal instead.
- These pedals are amazingly light - they weigh less than half the weight of Primo Super Tenderizers.
- 9/16" (for 3 piece cranks) only (standard MTB size)
Mr JohnsonThis is my second pair, this time I got the gray which looks great with my XTR drivetrain. Quality materials for the price, sealed bearing that seem to last. The MG1 Mag is LIGHT, one of the best deals for a platform padal.
DavidLightweight, great value. Haven't had them long enough to comment on durability but paying a lot more for pedals seems silly get these instead!
Mr BenisonExcellent pedal, light and very grippy, combined with my 5/10's feel totally locked in.
Mr CThis is the second pair of Wellgo MG1 Magnesium Pedals I've bought from Merlin. The first pair are going strong and looking good so these were the obvious choice for my new bike. Very light with excellent grip on Shimano AM41shoes.
Paul of PlymouthGood flat pedals at a good price & very happy with them. They suit my riding style just fine .. have DMR pedals on other bikes, and these Wellgo ones are equally as good in all respects.
Aussie ScottThese are the second pair of MG1 pedals I've owned and will continue to buy them. They are durable, grippy, and lightweight. Best value for money pedal around.
Mr OrangePros: High quality materials for the price - Cro Mo axles should last and Magnesium alloy bodies are really light. 9 pins per face keep your shoe stuck to the pedal, giving you nearly as much power as clipless in muddy conditions. The fact that the sealed cartridge bearings are themselves hidden behind a thick, flexible outer seal means they should last ages and even when they do eventually wear, can be replaced without having to trash the pedal. Much better design and quality than the genuine V8s they are replacing. Delivery was incredibly quick. Cons: Paint colour has started to wear off after only 3 rides - wish I'd have gone for the silver ones now as they are soon gonna look pretty tatty. I went for orange to go with my neon orange Orange Five but they are not so vibrant in real life and are more of a dull brownie-orange Overall: Fantastic quality, grip and weight for the money, shame about the paint
Mr CivitGood flat pedals, light and grippy and suitable for xc, just what I'm looking for and a bit more!
TobiasGot the black ones as a replacement for my Specialized Hardrock stock pedals. Even with shoes that have a rather hard sole these guys grip like nothing else! Looks the part and were easy to fit.
chrisLook good and quite light. Perfect for wifes bike!!
jgThese are a really nicely finished pair of pedals. They are super smooth in use and are holding up well to all that I have thrown at them so far. They are lighter than the generic 'off the shelf' pedals that came with the bike too. Also, top marks to Merlin for the speedy delivery.
Mr KnightReally light pedals. Also feel slightly wider than DMR V8s and V12s
Mr partingtonThis is a 2nd set of these i bought for my sister, i've run them myself now for about a year. They are super smooth, very light and pretty strong as long as you aren't hitting rocks too hard/often. The main feature we like is the width of them, just far more comfortable with a wide soled flat shoe.
Mr WilsonSmooth and grippy. What more can you say?
Anonlightweight and feel great beneath my FiveTens...
