    Road bike rear derailleurs

Also known as mechs, derailleurs are one of the earliest inventions in all off cycling and the fundamentals of them haven't changed much. They're still a pivoting and swinging hinged parallelogram with a couple of jocket wheels for taking up the chain length variations in different gears. The overall design doesn't vary much apart from using lighter, stiffer and shinier materials. Perhaps the only thing that is of significance is the cage length; the length of the dangly bit that holds the jocket wheels. You can get short or long cage mechs. We carry 10 and 11 speed derailleurs from the principal triumvirate of drivetrain manufacturers: Shimano, Campagnolo and Sram.
