Mr Rotaru very nice design, visible, keeping warm enough between 2-16 degrees Celsius. Waiting to test it on rain
Cliff D I needed a decent rain jacket for days when you just get caught out in the rain. The fit of the jacket is spot on. The rain protection is suspect. I got caught in downpour and water seeped in. I've had look at other reivews and it may just be my jacket.
Mr Learner This is a lightweight, rubberish jacket that does a superb job of cutting the wind. It doesn't breathe so I've had to reduce layers so I don't overheat, but that's a great trade-off when it's 35 degrees F (2 degrees C) and I'm riding into a 20mph (32kmh) headwind. I'm 5'11" (180cm) and weigh 210lbs (15 stone) and XXL fits great.
Mr Stubbs Nice lightweight waterproof jacket, good value.
Mr Golby A nice looking jacket, sizing is good and nicely fitted. Have ridden in some persistant rain, keeps you dry though you may finish your ride a little damp (but still warm). What little moisture there is dries out super quickly. The only place it's let down is the rear/underside of the arms which seams to be a different material, maybe for breathability, however it's not as waterproof as the rest of the jacket so I've had some very damp forearms after 30mins in med/heavy rain. For the sale price though quite happy.
Mr Arkles Great light weight. Rolls up nice and fits in your back pocket. The fit was perfect (medium) I`m 5`5" 149lbs.
Mr hayward I really rate this jacket, flyweight, well designed, well fitting and provides a surprising amount of insulation, a steal at this price
James Worn once on a humid day; good test. Some moisture inside but pretty good really. Certainly good value at the deal price. I don't like tight fitting jackets, so for me as a 'medium' I chose Large. Perfect!
Mr Featherstone Fits well. I'm a medium normally and the medium fit ok over three layers and pads
Mr Flaherty Brilliant, dry, comfy, warm, aerodynamic -looks good too. A really lovely jacket. Besides being waterproof it's the small touches that count-like the cuffs grip one's wrist so no air gets in, same at the neck etc.
CS Great light jacket. Went for X Large although I normally fit large and it fits well with room for base layers. Does not fit very well in its pouch but not a big issue. Could have some more reflective strips but again not a big issue
Mr Moore Used it twice in the dry and and it worked well ie wind proof - can't comment on water proofness. About 14C when I used it so needed to unzip a few cms to improve moisture removal. Packs down well enough to go in jersey pocket. I'm 6ft 1in with fairly broad shoulders and large size fits me well. Good price, well made and snugish fit. Would benefit from under arm vents but then then it would cost more. I'm well pleased so far.
Brian This is a really high quality product at an affordable price, good fit, keeps most rain out and looks stylish. Definitely recommended
Ronald Awesome jacket, it is very easy to roll up and stash in a jersey pocket and the quality is excellent!
Mr Mulheron I am usually a large but it was a bit restictive around the neck and a bit tight across the chest so opted for the XL instead which fits perfectly. Ideal for travelling light, especially with the uncertainty of the Scottish weather. Customer service was awesome, I called to enquire about returns and it couldn't be easier. I filled out the returns form and I received a conformation e-mail when the returned item was received and the money was back in my account within a few days. Will definitely use Merlin again.
David Liggat Well made product not had a chance to wear it in the rain yet, my wife liked it so much I ordered the same jacket for her.
Baggaley Looks good but hasn't been used in anger yet. I am 5,10'' and 12st. Went for a medium. It is very snug but I guess it is supposed to be. If you like a loose fit go a size up.
Becker I have a 42 inch chest and the size large is tight. I will say that the overall garment stretches so the fit doesn't feel terrible. If I were to purchase it again I would order the XL.
Justin S Finally, a rain/wind jacket that doesn't feel like wearing a parachute! The medium size is nearly perfect for me at 6' and ~160lbs. I've worn this in light to medium rain and it has kept me quite dry and very warm.
Mr Collison Great jacket! Wore it in the rain for the first time this morning. And Merlin was awesome to purchase from. Shipping to the US was no issue. Would buy from Merlin again. Thanks!
Mr Melville Love this jacket! The fit is nice and close to the body and the jacket is definitely waterproof. My only concern is that it's a little short in the body but that's probably due to the fact that I'm 6"1 but skinny enough that I needed to order a small. Sleeve lengths are nice and long and the elastic cuff fits well underneath my gloves. I would definitely recommend this product and Altura is now on my radar as a great brand.
