The project started with a blank piece of paper in the Castelli product development office and a curious question, “What does the modern-day cyclist really need to achieve maximum performance in cold conditions?” Castelli pushed their partner Polartec® to go beyond, and together developed a fabric technology with the modern-day cyclist at its core. 

Polartec® AirCore™ — the revolutionary PFAS-free, electrospun, semi-air-permeable membrane protects cyclists who ride in cool conditions with the possibility of light showers. With the continued focus on improvement, Castelli introduce the exclusive Polartec® AirCore™ fabric in a new 219 g weight, meaning the Perfetto 4 now gives extra warmth and protection. 

The Perfetto Jacket has always been instantly identifiable on the road. The iconic shoulder taping has been updated with a modern look and feel, using a transparent chameleon tape that allows the main body fabric to show through. The Polartec® AirCore™ fabric works harder and smarter the more effort you are applying to your ride, so the iconic Perfetto zippered ventilation openings are no longer a requirement. The Perfetto 4 W Jacket features a reimagined ergonomic splash tail, effectively guarding the rider against road spray. With a nostalgic nod to the original Gabba, Castelli have added metal drainage holes to the rear pockets.
