Internal Reinforcement Structure
The helmets are reinforced with an internal frame integrated into the EPS, the skeletal frame not only holds the helmet in one piece, but also makes it stronger and more resistant to protect your head in the event of a collision.
In-Mold Construction
In-mold is a method consisting in bonding the EPS together with the outer polycarbonate shell for greater structural strength. This improves the rider’s protection by providing a compact reinforcement and gives the product a perfect finish.
Wind Tunnel Tested
HJC helmets are tested in the laboratory as well as in “real-life” to meet the highest quality standards. BaronI love the look of the Ibex- minimal. The Ibex fit is roundish/ wide up front, but oval in the rear. I have an oval 56cm head and wear a medium in every brand I own- Lazer Genesis, Kask Protone, Met Rivale & Manta, but the spring loaded occipital cradle tension device on the Ibex was not tight enough on a medium to keep the helmet in place, I could rotate the helmet quite a bit on my head. I think if the tension device was dial adjustable the medium helmet would have fit fine. So, I downsized to a small and it fits perfectly, albeit with no extra room to spare and the helmet looks great. The spring loaded occipital cage feature with no adjustment required makes putting on and taking off the helmet easier, but I think a dial adjustable cage is better as it offers more ability to get the fit to an individual’s liking. So, I’m going 4 stars, but would be 5 stars with dial adjustment.
