A comeback has never been so amazing. After taking a few years off, PIKE comes back in the RockShox lineup, as the ultimate trail fork. Your trail could be a silky smooth ribbon of singletrack, or a rock-infested goat trail in the Alps. Either way, there is a PIKE for you. All wheel sizes, with 26”, 27.5” and 29” options, and 160mm and 150mm travel models, plus a 140mm version for the 29” platform. The RCT3 damper is available in either Dual Position Air or a Solo Air version to complete the offering.
All 2015 Rockshox Forks are supplied in a Rockshox box with a service kit and Rockshox Pump.
This fork works great on all terrain that I ride, super plush but works well on the bigger hits and is very stiff. It is very tune-able to your weight and riding style and I have not had any reliability issues in the year that I have been riding it. This is one of those rare cases when its safe to believe the hype, the Pike is outstanding.
Got the 140mm to go on the new trail bike rather than the Revelation which it would have had. I'm really happy with it so far. It feels much more solid than the 32mm FOX's. It seems to live up to its pretty audacious reputation and everything I'd heard about them in reviews. The only down-side is I can't blame the 'noodle' on the front end of the bike if I do something really wrong.
I was expecting delivery to take a few weeks based on what others had said about ordering online, but Merlin's service was brilliant. It took just one week to get here in South Africa.
Also it did indeed come with a pump, service kit and extra bottomless tokens.
150mm version, couldn`t ask for more. Fantastic small bump response and never bottoms out once the sufficient number of tokens are put in. Still tuning the forks but all in all, a great product.
This is a seriously impressive fork. Mind you, it's vastly big, real big - and it'll take you further than down the road to the chemist's. It is also smooth, it is also everything you've read and more. It improves any bike that it'll fit. Go for it. Mind you, I've had to tell The Missus that the dog dragged it home, but these are the burdens the dog has to bear. As usual was impressed by Merlin's usual service.
