Historically, the cycling industry has treated 34-38mm tires as if they are meant for touring with thick casings that made them slow, heavy, and dead feeling. In developing the RCR tyres, Silca have taken a volume-centric approach that prioritizes width and speed without adding useless bulk. RCR are the first road tyres of this size range to be designed and optimized with the same care as a racing tyre where, using lower pressures, they are thinner, faster, and more supple.
Silca started with their widest 38 mm model, designing it with the largest volume possible while still adhering to the regulations set forth by our governing body overlords who shall not be named. By leveraging this increased air volume to absorb impacts and reduce flat risks, we stripped away heavy, redundant puncture layers. This allows us to keep the tire lightweight, fast, and comfortable to offer riders the high-volume performance they have been asking for.
For optimizing around modern 25mm internal width rims, Silca's 29mm wide tyre is the sleekest option that fully complies with ETRTO standards. To eliminate the safety vulnerabilities typical of hookless setups, Silca integrated their Carbon BeadLock technology. Unlike standard Kevlar beads that stretch and "creep" over time, which increases blowoff risks; Silca's rigid carbon fibre beads never stretch. From local criteriums to the punishing cobbles of Paris-Roubaix, Protocol RCR keeps you rolling fast and safe.
RCR Architecture

Performance Data
Against the Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 38mm, the RCR rolled at 31.7 watts in controlled lab testing versus the Vittoria's 40.5, saving nearly nine watts at the same width. It does it 70 grams lighter per tyre, which is 140 grams off the wheels on a pair.

Silca Ultimate v2 Tubeless Sealant - 500ml
Injectable through your valve, seals a 6mm+ puncture, and lasts up to 6 months. The perfect sealant for those looking for the ultimate sealing power, longevity, and ease of use.
The original sealant formulation, released 2.5 years ago, was designed primarily for effective puncture sealing by maximizing the surface area of the liquid latex for enhanced performance. Pro racers valued its convenience, as they frequently changed tires based on race conditions and could easily pour in fresh sealant without needing to inject it through the valve. However, we heard two main concerns from more casual cyclists it dried out quickly when not in use, and its composition of the longer strand carbon fiber made injection difficult and problematic, leading to a potentially messy installation if not handled carefully.
Lastly, the old Natural Latex formula needed a two-step process to stay liquid longer. That has been eliminated with our new blend of natural and synthetic latex. SILCA Ultimate Sealant Is a one-step process lasting +6 months and still, above all else, sealing punctures on race day.
