Mr MadenFast delivery to Turkey also great packing!
F. ChrétienFast delivery in Canada, nothing is missing and in good condition. Will have to try my new parts soon. Thanks ! :)
Mr ReyesVery easy to fix and install
ASuperb!
Mr NGUYENUpgraded from 105 to Ultegra for the smoother shifting! It is smooth!
Mr tabWow a master peice of engineering. Don't be fooled by the looks. It's just a front derailleur. The difference is night and day compared with other fd. It works that's hard to get right. Decades of getting it to be perfect. It is now. All about the installation of getting it right.
Mr WallikerPart arrived in a very quick time. Fitted and operated perfectly. A fab parts supplier of qualitity components.
Mr BoweProduct required due to failure of my existing derailleur. Other providers had a lead time of several months, merlin provided in 2 working days. Great service and product just what I required. Definitely using merlin again.
J PVery pleased, good price, prompt delivery. Item as described. Easy to set up with online Shimano installation guide. Good shifting. Be aware full length cable housing not included so you may need to buy separate housing depending on your setup.
Steve S.Shimano makes a great product. Merlin sells it at a fair price. What's not to like? I replaced an old 6700 group and all is working well.
E RobertsonSimple to set up, nicely designed
David LeeBetter than Ultegra FD 6800. Easy to setup and shifts very well.
Barrienice shifting, a massive step up from the previous model, so much easier to set up, a front mech the way it should be
HowardI love this new model front derailleur, takes a bit of learning to set it up, but once you get it, its really quite simple. I works well on the bike too!
Mr HalesReally good smooth gear change.
RobertSuper upgrade from 105 in conjunction with Ultegra chainset. Looking forward to a smooth summer
Mr woodChanges much smoother than old 6800 which it replaced
HarryAn adventure to set up & tune, but it does work very well once you do so.
SteveA bit strange to cable and install, and a little counter-intuitive. Compared to the 6800 installation, the shift is stiffer, I suspect due to the geometry. To be fair, I'm not using 8000 shifters -- I'm using a set of ST685s so that may be the issue.
Mr KAYHANMore sharp shifting and trimming is easier than before
JeffreyGood stuff. Merlin even included the little metal stick-on bit to adhere to the frame behind the FD.
Justin ErvinUpgraded to this from Tiagra. More compact with a marginal weight savings. It does look good on the bike though, especially in the small chainring.
Mr FouldsI hate front derailleurs because I always have to spend too much time and frustration fiddling around with them to get them set up just right, this FD is however a true blessing and makes the process much easier!
Mr AmiThe Ultegra 8000 series is one of the best Shimano has ever made. Shifting is extremely precise with less effort to move the levers as previous models. Extremely happy with this entire groupset.
DavidSo easy to set up compared to lower bracket models (ie: Claris / Sora).
RVHTime will be the judge, but so far so good. Set up is not the same as with the old long arm Shimano FDs. I had some trouble getting trim positions to work nicely on both ends, but I really do like the design changes (in theory).
gregoryI was unhappy with the shifting of the Shimano 105 front. The improvement is significant. Great deal and great equipment.
Tim BeghtolMuch improved over previous 6800 front derailleur. The new low profile arm increases tire clearance, too.
craigSo far I really like this derailleur. It sets up a bit differently vs. the 6800. It took some time to get used to and understand how it works. Once I wrapped my head around things, it was actually easier that the previous version and shifts better/smoother. I did find the cap that houses the shifter wire to be a bit strange. The wire wraps around and under in a way that doesn't quite seem right. The cap doesn't snap on in a way that seems very secure either...but it all sort of works out in the end and looks neat and tidy. It even looks like a di2 if you glance from far away.
Mr PETERSNice light weight easy to instill and runs so smooth
Alastair StedmanBest road front derailleur I have ever used. Shifting action is a lot lighter than the old Dura Ace 7900 I used to have. Shimano's new derailleur design is the best in the business.
Mr CHANGThis derailleur is much easier to adjust than 6800/105 series
Mr ArslanWith new design, barrel adjustment is easy. Shifting sensation is very nice. Search and learn how to adjust this before doing it. It will really help to fine tune.
Mr CondonJust like the rear derailleur the shifting is smooth and crisp
Mr bilgenDoesn't take much force to shift, also it's easier to install and setup than my previous 105 5800 derailleur.
Duane CominsLooks the part and functions well. Once set up the gear changes are crisp and clean.
EymardEasy set-up and replaced my 105-5800 with this. Shift is smooth, light and fast compared to 105-5800. Did not miss a beat in adjustments with the built in cable adjuster.
Mr WehrmanThese new FD's are FAR easier to install than the older style. With a built in tension screw and great cable routing I love how well this functions.
Jimmy PrestoThis is also my second build using FD-R8000. They work great over the last Ultegra Series
SmashBit different to setup but so far so good.
JoshuaThe redesign of this front derailleur is a very welcome addition to the drivetrain. The updates make it easier install and tune than past variants. Though the front derailleur seems to be a component that gets overlooked often, you are well aware it when something`s gone wrong. The maintenance is simple and straight forward and the cable routing is clever, giving you plenty of length to work with for future tune ups, but nicely tucking it out of the way the rest of time so you avoid the occasional annoyance of calf and tyre rub.
Mr KaracaIt is very fast and quiet. I recommend it.
Mr BARROSI am very satisfied with this Shimano Ultegra FD-R8000 Front Derailleur. Very light, precise in the exchanges. Perfect!
