Jim CollinsFantastic value for money - quality of bike bags that are much more expensive. Really quick and hassle free delivery.
Sarah SkeldingExcellent bag for the price, well constructed, reasonable padding.
Mr BOULDERExcellent value for money. Just used the bag to take my road bike to the Canaries and it was a 30 minute job to pack it (bars off, rear mech off, pipe lagging on frame) and 10 mins to rebuild. No issues with baggage handling and no damage to bike or bag either there or back. Recommended
Mr dartThis a a good value bag offering reasonable protection for carrying on trains and in this case, around London. Nice and light although it does not have internal pockets for the wheels however it will hold a medium frame size road bike with 700C wheels without having to remove the handlebars or pedals. This does make packing the wheels slightly more awkward, but still fine with judicious use of bubble wrap, foam, and cardboard dividers. The shoulder straps are a good length for carrying. Good value if you are on a tight budget. Recommended.
JonoNice bag, seems reasonably tough, lots of "quick access zips" to the main compartment, but not a huge amount of padding, (I'll definitely be 'pipe lagging' the frame) but it is reinforced where the wheel axles meet the bag and other sensible places, so don't discount it for protecting your pride and joy yet. I'd have liked to see a few more storage pockets for qr's and tools etc. (I'll just put them in a wash bag inside the main bag itself.) So far I've only put a bike in (54cm TT bike) and given it a wheel about and all was fairly straight forward, plenty of room etc. however, I'm yet to let baggage handlers throw it about so I'll probably update this review for durability in the future. It's worth noting that the logo has been updated from the one pictured to the one top left, which looks fairly badass. In conclusion I'd say a lot of bag for your money and a definite for those on a limited budget, for light use or storage purposes
Mr HancockNot my first choice, but since that was not available this looked like value for money. It did all that was required of it, but would have benefited from larger wheels/smaller slides - need to lift about 500mm before it will roll. Two interior wheel pockets work well, but one large single tool/pedal pocket with no zip allows stuff for fall out in transit. Reasonable value for money especially if you require the size. I would have preferred smaller bag with more pockets for the money.
Mr FryBig old bag but excellent for transporting the bike in the car and given recent experiences may use on any future train journeys. Plenty of room and like the zips to allow 'bits' to stick out if required!
Chris PI recently moved to a first floor flat and thought this would be a good solution for when returning from a muddy ride now I don't have a garage. The soft bag is a very generous size and seems well made and sturdy. There is only one large pocket but plenty of space for wheels; I've just put a bit of material between to prevent them scratching the frame. So far so good and will be able to stash it under the bed or in our large wardrobe without worrying about getting anything covered in oil. Great value when you look at comparable products from other retailers.
Mr LewisExcellent product for the money, spacious and well constructed. My IH Sunday fitted in fine, and have also had my road bike in it. A slightly wider wheelbase would aid stability, but really this is a minor gripe! Very much recommended.
Mr WaddingtonA great no nonsense bag. Just what you want to put a dirty bike into a 'clean' car. This is the second one i've bought. It is for a second bike, the first bag is going strong. Merlin Cycles provide a great service.
B DReally good bike bag for the price - excellent padding and strong handles. Very happy
Mr CarrollGreat product. Appears robust and good quality. Didn't buy with the intention of travelling with it, but would definitely consider. Fits 29er wheels in no problem. I have an xl bike and with handle bars still mounted, they protrude about 3 inches out of the zip. Not an issue for me though. All in all, happy with this purchase.
Mr PalhoniI bought this bag for travel and is excellent, I have nothing to complain about. Extremely complete. Very fast shipping and secure.
Mr holroydThis is perfect for protecting my pride & joy. Plenty big enough for my road bike and kit. I'm not sure i would use this for airline travel though - I don't think it would offer enough protection against crushing etc.
Mr CruddasGreat bag and awesome value. It can fit my large stumpjumper in no problem.
Mr LongVery good service and good products, a satisfied customer.
Dr WachsmuthHuge - can accomodate 160mm large framed bike. No wheel bags, or pouches for wheels, which don't fit into the bag easily either. Robust & well made, but not really up to protecting a bike in the hold of an aircraft. I would say this is a simple bag to allow easy transport inside a car, etc, where protecting the interior of your car is the main priority.
Mr VarneyThis is an excellent bag for the money. It is extremely well padded and has zips on both sides at the top that allow you to hang it on a bike rack.It does not come with wheel bags but does have pockets for the wheels which are perfectly adequate. I also own a BX bike bag purchased from Chain Reaction but the Merlin bag is just as good at 2/3rd of the price.
Mr Pilleythis bike bag is the perfect size for travelling. I managed to fit my large v10 with 40's in it and there was no problems with packing at all, there is a lot of space for tools, pumps, etc. Would definitely recommend this to other users, although would probably get the one with wheels as it would be easier to carry.
