MR PNice budget wheel for a lighter rider. Very smart decals. Fitted this to my 14 year old's MTB. He's made up.
Mr NybergAn exellent wheel and really good value for money! Not the lightest but perfect as an extra wheel for my trainer
AlexStill running nice and true after 6 months. Rim wear from the brake pad isn't noticeable although they've not done many gritty or sandy rides. I've not touched the hubs yet but I'm hoping to get a year or two between regreasing them
Mr ZookeeperGreat quality wheel set. Cannot beat the price, Rims seem solid, quality, serviceable hubs. Well packed and are still running true.
MikeI bought this after looking around for a replacement for a bullet-proof Mavic x138 rim/parallax hub wheel & it's a great substitute. It's well built & excellent vfm. There are obv lighter wheels out there, but I use this on a hybrid set-up fitted with a Black Jack tyre riding light trails, often with a child seat attached, & it has coped just fine. It hasn't gone out of true or needed any maintenance in a month of almost constant use. Unless you are racing or really need lightweight kit this is a great wheel for the price.
Mr WrightMuch better quality than the wheels that came with the bike originally. The wheels run very smooth and true. Very well finished and look even better in real life. Very fast delivery and well packaged.
Mr PickworthGood wheels for the money! They will never be up to Mavic quality but buy budget and you expect some shortfalls. Overall they are good value if you want a budget wheelset. Otherwise spend the money and get better quality.
AndyBOnly place I could find this 26" wheel online. Great quality and built to last. Thus not overly light. I've done a few hundred miles already and it is very smooth. Great service from Merlin, arrived awesomely quick and well wrapped. Many thanks for the great service.
Mr EarlI was looking for a good quality rear wheel for my On one 456 hardtail. The quality and weight of this inexpensive wheel is incredible, and it looks amazing on the bike. I will be buying the front one to get the matching set. If you are looking for a great quality, great value wheel, buy these.
Mr BartkowiakSeems good value. Wheels were true out of the box. Good QRs which have interior cams that will be less prone to wear than the open types. Bearings not super smooth hence the star downgrade
Mr ConstantineI bought the front wheel last year and it had been great- this one feels just as good- I ride cross country and road.
Mr McCardleDelivery to Spain only took 3 working days and it was free. Fantastic pair of wheels and only 80 grams heavier than the DT Swiss they were replacing. Installed them on my Rockhopper and could not notice the difference between the Mach and the DT Swiss. Great value for money
Mr crowWhat can I say? These are the very cheapest set of wheels around, yet as soon as I fit them they felt solid and the bike ran beautifully. They were very quick to install (even came with new quick release spindles) and had transferred my bike within an hour. They felt no heavier than what was on there already (factory bontragers), and must only be a few grams heavier than more expensive wheels. Only time will tell how long they last, but after a heavy blat over rocky terrain for a couple of hours and a ride home they still felt great. Great value for money and quick delivery!
Mr BrownI was after some cheap wheels to replace the factory wheel on my bike which had generic no-name hubs and were therefore tricky to get the correct parts to quickly overhaul, and these fit the bill nicely. They're a comparable weight to the stock wheels on my gt avalanche with low end alexrims which is expected for wheels in this price bracket. I believe the shimano hubs on these are the cheaper Malaysia versions with plastic seals rather than the Japanese versions with rubber seals (I could be wrong as I've not looked that closely), but are perfectly serviceable nonetheless. They come complete with shimano qr skewers which are fine although I'll probably replace them as the lever fouls my dropouts so have to rotate the other end to tighten. All in all a good set of wheels for my purposes.
Mr RogersGood quality and good value for money. Just fitted them to my 10 year old GT mountain bike and it feels like new. They came with skewers but without rim tape.
Mr croweI was on a budget, rebuilding my old frame and needed a set of wheels. I looked at options on ebay and from other companies but for the price none had the same spec. In addition the last wheels I had on the bike were made by merlin back in 1998 and had suffered 14 years of punishment so It was a no brainer! The wheels are fairly light but strong and well leced up. If you need a set of wheel fast and within a tight budget, look no futher!
Ant JonesBought these for my rigid singlespeed MTB build so cheap and excellent quality, look amazing too. all fitted now with DMR singlespeed conversion kit on a 1998 Marin Muirwoods frame. very pleased.
Mr Townsendquality cheap wheels -what else do you need for commuting?
Mr BeynonA fast response for replacement of my MTB rear wheel to get me quickly back on the road. Loooking forward to many miles on the smart new wheel, all as accurately described on Merlin's website.
Mr MacKenzieAs I'm in the process of building a bike I've not had a chance to use the wheels yet, but found the service from Merlin satisfactory.
