For a first road bike, this is very good value for money. Light and comfortable, just stick a couple of pedals on (I recommend clipless) and you're off. The only thing you might need to replace, depending on the use you make of it (commute, for example), are the tyres. Everything else will provide plenty of kilometers of enjoyment.
As this is my first road machine I wasn't sure what to expect. This bike is awesome - for the price the range of kit is amazing. I was not expecting anything carbon in this price range! Highly recommended and the service from Merlin was second to none. I live on the Isle of Wight and there was no quibble over delivery and I paid the standard charge.
Exactly as described, incredible value for money. On top of how everything is well built, I was suprised by how comfortable the ride is. I cannot be more satisfied by the bike.
This was my first ever road bike and I am not disappointed. For the money, the spec is outstanding - carbon fork, tapered steerer, triple butted, semi-smooth welds and a threaded BB. Given the amount of miles I intend to put in, the threaded BB is an absolute godsend. The finishing kit (saddle, seatpost, bar, stem and bar-tape) is Felt own brand and faultless. I will say that I got the XL (61cm) as I'm 6ft4 and the reach on the stem was a little long for me. I swapped it to something slightly shorter (coming from an MTB background) and now it's hours of enjoyable riding ahoy. Good quality wheels too at this price - the hubs have good engagement and seem well built. Shifting is accurate and sharp with the Sora groupset. Brakes are quite responsive too after a little bedding in. Very comfortable to ride. Compliance is good and you don't feel shaken apart even on the rougher roads. My hands do not feel fatigued at all and despite it being an alu bar, there is very little buzz. As for Merlin - I'm a first time buyer and will continue to shop with them. Great service and great build quality - all I had to do was put the bars onto the stem and hop aboard. Note though that no pedals are included (not even resins with straps). That is by no means a criticism, just a heads up.
This is a great bike for the money, the groupset is basic but I've got no complaints, it does the job, and the whole package is reasonably light. I don't think you can find better for the money. It obviously won't compare to more expensive bikes but you'd have to spend a lot more to find something significantly better. At this price it's a great buy.
