Merlin Performance PR7-R Road Bike - 2016
The PR7-R keeps the ethos of the original PR7 - incredible bang for buck - but where that bike is an everyman all-rounder the PR7-R is more focussed on performance. This is a beginner's racing bike.
Stiff and lightweight frame with classic racing geometry. The heart of the PR7-R is a frame and fork that is ripe for a lifetime of being hammered around in the bunch.
The finishing kit is also very capable. Shimano, Mavic and Kalloy Uno are all names that experienced cyclists will know and appreciate.

The bike was intended as an occasional, functional commuter but to be honest having taken it out for a few rides it is likely to replace my main bike for most outings. Excellent value and build quality, easy to assemble, well packed in short very pleased with my purchase.
Lovely frame and fork, fantastic value. Would recommend swapping stock Sora brake blocks to something better, but at this price I really can't complain!
Perfect Training bike, great for early spring rides in Canada, easy to finish assembly, quick delivery, no issues, I love it
Amazing bike! I got this with anticipation to receive an entry-level bike and was blown away by what it has to offer. The bike was light (I could lift it with 2 fingers), had a stiff frame and decent steering. I would note that the bike is slower on taking off from a standing position, but once you start moving, it really speeds up.
The finish and the materials feel high-end, and I'd even prefer this bike to some of the $1000USD Trek bikes that I saw at my LBS. Definitely worth the purchase. At its price, this is practically a steal!
