Eddy Merckx Sallanches 64 105 Road Bike - 2016
The Eddy Merckx Sallanches 64 105 is a lightweight carbon fibre road bike designed to be a versatile machine that can deliver in high-performance racing and longer endurance events, allowing you to go further and faster than you have done previously and helping you enjoy your road cycling more than ever before. In 1964, Eddy Merckx became the amateur world champion in Sallanches, France; this marked the start of his extraordinarily successful career as a cyclist with this bike taking its name from that victory.
The Sallanches 64 combines rider-friendly geometry - a slightly higher head tube and shorter top tube, with a cleverly constructed carbon frame which includes a more flexible flattened profile in the seatstays providing enhanced comfort when seated. These compliant elements contrast with a super-stiff bottom bracket and chainstay area ensuring that all of your energy and pedaling power transfers through to the rear wheel.
The Eddy Merckx Sallanches 64 includes a rider-friendly Shimano 105 groupset featuring a compact chainset to give a versatile range of gears that will help you conquer the steepest climbs you can find. A notably comfortable Prologo K3 saddle and Deda handlebars, stem and seatpost means your contact points remain comfortable even during a six-hour epic and a durable, but lightweight pair of Shimano RS010 wheels completes this capable package.
