I switched to these as recommended by a cycling forum. I was looking for a reliable winter tyre that wasn't too 'tall' and allowed me better mudguard clearance than my Conti 4 Seasons.
These fitted the bill perfectly and with slightly better clearance, good strong sidewalls, cut-free after 500 mucky miles and at almost one-third of the price, these seem to be just what I have been looking for.
Excellent service from Merlin, as usual.
Excellent tire with unbeatable cost / benefit. Already used the Zaffiro 23c and already liked very much, this is a step up. I put the 25C just in the rear wheel, ensuring greater comfort on poorer floors without losing performance, and keeping the wheel aligned longer by absorbing a little more impact (same pressure). Lightweight and with good resistance to perforations. Vittoria has very good tires, with a very competitive cost (below the competitors). I have no reason to change brands. Very good manufacturer. I recommend.
Mr Medeiros Bitencourt
Excellent tyre for training and daily commuting, hope it lasts as I read in other reviews.
Those are my second set of Rubino's and are unbeatable in terms of cost/benefit. It's a shame that they discontinued such great tyres.
Good tyres. Seem to be fairly fast and grip well.
Just fitted one of these to rear wheel and went for 35 mile ride. Very happy with extra comfort over poor surfaced roads, compared to usual 23c Rubinos, with no loss of speed or feel. Have long been a fan of Rubino Pros for all round riding and durability. Have not tried the latest Graphene version, so don't know how they compare.
If your looking for a puncture proof tyre and very good rolling, this is the one.
Light, good puncture protection and low price
Had these in the 28c size before, and they worked phenomenally for about 3000+ km before the treads started to go in the rear tyre. Front tyre is still good though, despite a few scuffs here and there. Glad to find them at such affordable prices at Merlin's (albeit only in the 25c size).
This is point of contact, what could be more important. A great feel of the road.
Easy to fit and very smooth running. These make the ride of my bike so much better
Good fast rolling hard wearing tyres which I'm using for my daily commute. They say 25mm but compared to the Rubino Pro 2 and GP4000 2 25mm tyres they are more like a 23mm.
I have not fitted the tyres yet, however I have used them before and had good service out of them. I believe that I have covered around 10,000 km on Rubino Pro 3s and have not had one puncture ( I hope that that is not tempting providence). Merlin's price was excellent and the delivery was swift and hassle free.
Loved these tires. They are my second pair. Nice and smooth ride. Unfortunately I had a blow out due to road hazard. I was glad that Merlin had them at the lowest price available, and low shipping cost. I received the tires as expected, and I am back to enjoying them.
Great tyre. Fast and smooth with plenty of grip. Really happy.
Feel very confident going into bends in the wet. Only done about 150 miles so far but happy with the purchase. Tight fit though and tough to get over the rim.
Not used as yet, but have used these tyres for training over the years and I find them very good. They are comfortable, long lasting and very puncture resistant!
Rubino Pro 3 have been great as a year round tyre. Long wearing, fast rolling, supple, grips well and great price! What more could you ask for!
Mr KeunYoung 010-2824-5443
Light, strong and good grip.
Best quality at low price.
I only use this tire every time.
Mr KeunYoung 010-2824-5443
I used for about 5000km. There was no punctures. It is a critical point.
Light and durable. Good grip.
I have used Vittoria Rubino's for years, love the performance and durability. Of course Merlin has the fastest shipping and awesome prices, Thanks Merlin Cycles!!
After 40-50 set of new tyres in my life this pair has been a blessing. I could not believe how easy was to install. The feeling of the material convinced me right away. Also very light tyre.
Great product wears well! I Live in Chicago and ride everyday when the weather is good and only one flat in 2yrs. I ride at 100psi very excellent low rolling-resistance. Best value for road bike and best price!!!
Excellent product! I will definitely buy a pair again..
Good grip, good rolling resistance, good puncture resistance, good wear. At this price I bought a few.
Best tire for every day riding
I've been using GP4000 IIs for some time, as they rate highly by all reports, in particular with rolling resistance for a clincher. But as this tyre goes to 10psi higher, it's rolling resistance is better. Also noticeably better up hills out-of-saddle / in sprints. And easily better than GP4000 for wear. Oh, and they stick like glue. Highly recommended.
Good services and fast delivery as expected. Bought this 2nd pair they are excellent as always. Comfort and low rolling resistance. Love it
Mr Mc Carthy
Got these for my wife after I had got a set for myself to try out. In my review I was very impressed with the tyre and was interested to see what she thought. She to was very impressed with the tyres ability to roll and roll. So this looks like a great tyre at a very low price...will they last through the winter and how good are they against punctures...we will have to wait and see.
The best tire ever, 9,000 km with 1 puncture. Cost benefit for day by day.
I had been riding on Zaffiro Pro Slick for 2 years. Vittoria tire is really good and smooth. Rubino pro 3 is great all round tires, Quality is good. Fast rolling with control very well. Really love them.
Gerry Mc Carthy
I have only put 140m up on the tyres so far and I must say for the price I am very impressed. The one thing I noticed straight away was the tyres ability to roll and keep rolling. I bought a second set to go on my wife's winter bike and am curious to see what she thinks. I will post her thoughts in the coming days. Great service Merlin by the way.
Smooth, fast tires once mounted. Run them around 115 psi in front and 125 psi in back. Compared to Continental GP 4000 S, hard to mount of my RS81 rims. I have been cycling since the mid 1980's and these are the hardest tires I have ever had to mount. Use baby powder and take your time.
Been riding these tyres for 15 years and they never let me down with great grip, stopping power and 4000 km life.
Excellent puncture resistance. I've gone one year and 7500 km without a flat
Its a very good tyre, I have used them for the last 5 years and find them puncture resistant, long lasting I normally get about 3,500 Ks from the back tyre if I avoid the broken glass!! Merlin are great to deal with too
Superb tyre for the price. Very grippy in the corners but fast when you put the hammer down.
Look the part too, especially on deep section aero wheels.
Excellent all rounder.
Tyre gives good grip in the corners and excellent low rolling resistantance. Makes for fast and confident cycling with high endurance.
I've only ridden them for about 50 miles and I can say that they roll very nice. They're also fairly light weight at 255g for the 25mm. I cannot comment on the longevity as of now but it looks like its wearing nicely. Half the price of my old turbo pro tires. I recommend these tires.
Love these tires (tyres)...perfect intersection of price, weight, speed, and puncture resistance . This is the 2nd season I have used these and have never flatted, unlike my last pair of tires. I run them at 120 PSI
25mm version, max 6 bar front and 7 bar rear, I weigh 75kg's. Hardtested over 3 days in july 2016, total 403km's aprox atelast 20-40km's on gravelroads of different types - ZERO punctures!
Feel confident riding these tires, feel under control changing lines on rough gravel, easy rolling, low priced, still hard to mount on my Pro-Lite Stelvio rims. Would buy again.
Good quality tyre, bought to replace older version of the same tyre so hope it lasts as well. Good trusted brand, with excellent low rolling resistance. Certainly notice the difference when these get rolling. Confident grip in the corners when it matters. Good choice of widths and colours.
mount well and stick to road well even in the wet
Grip is good, middle section is kinda slick so it rolls very well.
My favourite all year round tyre, good in summer for general use and reasonably robust on the Surrey roads. I had a brief flirtation with Continental Gatorskins and liked the good puncture resistance and the long life and finally returned to Rubinos for their much lower rolling resistance and better ride. The Rubinos grip in the wet better that the Gatorskins too.
Great Pair of Tyres. Bought these tyres to replace my older Vittotia Tyres. First ride was a 600km audax, where they performed faultlessly on some of the toughest/roughest roads and tracks in Wales. As you would expect there was plenty of rain. These tyres gripped well in the decents and at no time was I worried about their performance. They rolled well and were extremely comfortable. Overall an impressive tyre.
I have been using this tyre for several years now and I find then extremely good value. Very long road life of around 6000km and I have rarely a puncture, wear is excellent. I recommend them for daily commute even in winter.
I've done two long rides on these tyres on flinty Norfolk roads and so far they have been fantastic, run well and look the part as I bought the blue ones
Have purchased several sets of these tires over the years. All have been extremely durable and puncture resistant.
Nice grippy ride, I got about 2500 miles from my last set before the rear wore out - guess I'll start rotating, as front still looks new. Much better ride than the previous conti gatorskins with similar life, not a completely fair comparison as I changed from 23c contis to 25c rubinos. 100-140 miles a week mostly flat ground on so-so roads, easy 15-20mph pace. Good bang for the buck.
I have done approximately 300 miles on these since receiving them. Superb tyres. I find these tyres very easy to fit and remove from my rims compared to previous tyre, this can even be done without levers some times, and they are rather comfortable. Good grip on a variety of surfaces.
These tyres seem to be the perfect mix of durability and road feel. I've been commuting on them for a while now and they seem to resist the p* fairy very well indeed. But the revelation is the amount of road feel, miles better than the tyres I'd been using before. All that with a pretty long-lasting tread pattern and not even expensive. You'll see a lot of them around, for a reason.
I have had quite a few pairs of Vittoria Pro Slick tires and have been happy with every pair in durability and longevity. This is my first purchase of the Rubino Pro Tire. It has a tread pattern so should help wet conditions. I had a couple of issues with the tires. First there are no arrows to indicate rotation direction so I guessed as to how they went on the rim. Secondly, the tire was very difficult to put on my Giant SLR rims (could be the rims and not the tires?). Took over 45 min to put on the rear tire and punctured an inner tube in the process because had to use tire levers. Other than that they roll nice and can be pumped up to 120psi (though casing says 145psi). Overall happy with the purchase and great value for the money .
Easy to put on and good riding properties. Can't say anything about puncture resistance and durability yet.
I think this tyres best price-performance tyres. Ideal choice for every day use and training. Wet grip, durability, lower rolling resistance and much more... All is perfect
Very good value for a reliable, well rolling tyre. 23mm used all winter; 25mm used for summer touring with loaded rack
Very pleased with this purchase. The tyres were a little fiddly to fit, but 700c size are always a bit fickle like that. Nice grippy tyre, runs smooth, inspires confidence and a noticeable improvement on my old set of schwalbes.
Great tires, in my opinion the best performance/value tyre you can get. Great puncture resistance, decent rolling resistance. Not the greatest in wet weather, a bit slippery.
Excellent winter tyres with graet puncture protection and good level of TPI for the price .
I try them only once, I passed on broken glass pieces twice and nothing happend. So far so good
Good winter tyres which are resistant to the flint on the roads in my area.
Very good and solid road tyres. I recomment these tyres.
Mine are the 700c x 28. I have just over 2000 km on these tires and I'm not seeing any real signs of wear. I expect to get at least 4000 kms out of them. And no flats so far. Weight isn't too bad either, just slightly more than 250 grams. My only complaint is that the 28s (and the 25s) only come in black. I would have liked a red pair to add a little flair to my bike.
Best to be used on the front wheel as its has grippy contact.. gives you that extra confidence on the fast descent
Cheap, durable tyre with great grip. My Go-to front tyre
Fantastic tire. Long lasting, fast rolling. Can't beat it for the price
For the price these tyres are hard to beat. Decent rolling resistance and good grip! Good choice of colours to. Easy to fit, didn't even use levers! Very happy with them. Service from Merlin spot on as usual
I love these tyres and they get better every year. Excellent wear properties and puncture resistance. Supple responsive ride with good grip in wet or dry. Excellent value.
Very tough and comfortable
Excellent training tyre! Very resistent, and no punctures!
Reliable compromise between rolling resistance and punctures
What can I tell about Rubino Pro? Well... my last pair is 7000 km and just 5 punctures until now, without Mr. Tuffy's like tapes. And perhaps it'll last 2000 km more, maybe more.
Great tyres for training! Don't worry about punctures, just ride!
Brilliant offer, so I couldn't resist buying after they were recommended by more than a few of my cycling friends as they are 'the tyres that don't puncture'. I found them a little difficult to get on but have good grip on wet roads, solid enough for training and not too hard so I can still enjoy my daily commute to work.
Excellent value. Only used for 2 weeks but 300km on autumn/winter roads with no punctures so far.
Great quality tyre, felt the improvement in my traction and performance straight away
Mr Cicinato Rodrigues
This is the second time I buy the Vittoria Rubino Pro 3. I was very happy in the choice of tire. I rode over 3,000 km without problem accomplishing anything. It is highly resistant to punctures, lightweight and runs very well.
These went on to my new wheels so much easier than expected, look great on the bike & got me thru a stupidly wet ride on Sunday without the slightest wobble. Bought as they've had great reviews in the mags, they're top quality and a complete bargain from Merlin.
Seem like a good all rounder/winter tyre although I've only used them once at the moment. Reasonably light, I didn't notice them dragging and grip into corners seemed good despite the monsoon like conditions.
Top product at a great price, used them all summer no punctures!
Have always used Vittoria Rubino Pro 3 folding tyres. They are a superb tyre, never let me down and you get great mileage from them, I really can't fault them and they are not expensive. Great product.
Merlin has the best deals on Vittoria Tyres. I have not had a puncture with these tyres that have a TPI of 150. I only buy this brand from now on. The buy one get one free deal is hard to beat.
Exceptionally fast delivery from Merlin. Great saving on these tyres. Only had them for a couple of weeks but they seem really grippy and strong after a few hundred autumn miles.
Great all round tyres, have been riding on them for 4 years now.
Beautiful tires! I only have 100 miles on them so I can't speak for longevity, but they seem tough and for the price it can't be beat.
Vittoria Rubino Pro 3 tyres are an excellent winter training tyre at a fantastic price from Merlin Cycles. I switched over from Open Corsa tyres that I'd worn out over the summer and was expecting a more robust tyre that would keep me going over the winter. These are definitely more robust but I hadn't anticipated how quickly they would roll and how much grip they would provide. Too early to say how durable they will prove but initial signs are promising. Having previously used Gatorskins over the winter, these feel much nicer. Highly recommended.
Great tires, great price, and quick delivery to the states. This is my second set going on some new wheels I purchased. I have found them to be bulletproof! Not as light as some race tires but its a lot nicer spending time riding instead of fixing flats.
I'm using these tires since 3 years and I really love them. You can make at 3500km and they keep a good performance for at least 2500km.
Excellent tyres and excellent value for money. Too early to speak of puncture protection although my experience with Vittoria has always been good and I've never had a puncture on any of the Vittoria's I have ridden. Not the the fastest rolling available but a good balance between speed and sturdiness.
Excellent all round performance and really easy to put on !
Only done about 200 miles on these but roll well and seem to be hard wearing also no punctures so far.
Great tire. I train a bit and have these in 25c and love them. Very durable and grippy. Not as comfortable as the Mich. Pro 4 SC's but much less prone to cuts.
Fast rolling tyre which are well able for rough Irish roads. Have Rubino pro's on my two bike. One set with almost 5k without a mark. Good hard wearing tyre. But have found the back to slip a little when under preassure out of saddle on smooth wet Tarmac. Didn't stop me buying a second set.
One of the greatest tyres in the world market... It rolls faster than other more expensive tyres and it has great puncture protection... I will buy again the same when I will have to change these...
Good quality tyres, compound seems strong, rolls well, happy with these
As a relative newcomer to road riding I don't have any other premium tyre experience to compare these to, but here is my experience anyway.
I bought these to replace the Schwalbe Lugano's that came on my bike, after reading plenty of positive reviews. I have had a couple of rides on them now and they have made a nice difference. As they are more supple than the Lugano's they feel much less harsh as you roll over typical rough British roads, despite me running them with a little more pressure. The rolling resistance is also slightly better and these two factors combined have really improved the ride of my bike.
Merlin's service and speed of delivery was excellent as usual, ordered day 1, despatched day 2, delivered day 3 with their standard free delivery. Cheers guys.
Have used Rubino Pro 3 tyres before and I find they are the best all round tyre, they are superb for high mileage and as for punctures they are bomb proof and thy have never let me down great tyre good price.
Best pound per performance tyre in the market? - Probably. Fitted in minutes, great puncture resistance roll well, confident in all weather - buy some!!
Unbeatable performance, reliability and value!
Roadie for 20+ years I have tried them all. For the money these are unbeatable!. Okay there are slightly lighter race tyres out there but they can cost twice as much and are far more fragile.
No punctures experienced in over three years of using these now and when using their max pressure of 145Psi they roll impressively fast. Buy these and run 'em at there highish Psi and you will fly!!!
Have also found the ride to be more compliant (less harsh) at max pressures than other top brands used.
Bike was originally specced with Vittoria Diamante Pro Comps which although very light are way way too prone to road damage and punctures.
My weapon of chocie on both training and local races. So fast and durable all-season tyres. And very reasoable price! We got really bad roads here, however just one or two flats throughout a year. Highly recommended!
Second set of these tyres that I've used. Great puncture protection and marked improvement in ride quality and comfort. Awesome training/commuter tyre! Great product at a great price.
Sturdy tire, seems to roll well, no punctures yet 300 odd kms in
Mick Le' Ginge'
Vittorria make good mid-range tyres. These are my first Rubino's so I'm keen to see how they perform long term.
I've put 100K on the since fitted and they roll very well, have coped with the falling leaves and damp surfaces in that time.
A good looking tyre too!
Tom from Truro
Great grip in the wet and fast rolling. Look good as well. Seem to be unfazed by really bad cornish road surfaces.
Have done a few miles now in mixed conditions, roll well and the light tread gives confidence on damp corners!! They also look the dogs on my black and red defy advanced!! So well chuffed!!
I have ridden Vittoria tyres before and liked them for their reliability and puncture resistance. After buying and fitting Rubino pro 3 folding Tyre my first ride was a 50 mile rough country lane with lots of big climbs, the tyres were superb safe on fast cornering and great on the big climbs finished the ride with a PB on strava .
Reliable tuff puncture resistant training donut for under twenty squid, can't go wrong. Does feel slightly draggy on the rear but after a summer of running the slickest fastest hoops expectations aren't that high. Will last thru to mid winter. Reccomended.
Nice reliable tyre - I've had them on 3 weeks cycling around Glasgow, which I can tell you is like running the gauntlet, and so far no problems. I've even used a cycle lane, which usually I refrain from as up here they are full of debris, however again haven't had any issues. Pleased as punch
Good tyre for the money. I replaced the stock (rubbish) tyres that came on my bike with a pair of these. They are fast and sure footed. I have had no issues even though I commute 22 miles minimum a day through London.
More tread than I expected but would still recommend
Second time ordering. Excellent tires as always
Compared to my previous tyre which was a panaracer it was noticably more comfortable. Rolls well, grips well, wears well.
I agree with the many claims about its puncture resistance. I did change my rear one after I found a 3mm hole where I could see down to the tube. It hadn't punctured though and there was no bulging of the carcass - thought I'd just play it safe. I bought the same again with the pimpy white stripe.
I'm very pleased with the Rubino's. I have them pumped to 120psi and rolling fast !
Nice fast and smooth rolling tyre and coloured side wall is cool. Only negitive is they are tight to mount on the rim. Otherwise a good tyre
Not used them much yet but they look the part and so far have ridden well through some pretty mixed weather conditions
Excellent tyres and Have purchased them before. look great, great in wet and rarely puncture. well delivered and very happy
Excellent product, and fairly quick delivery. Would definitely order from MerlinCycles again. :)
One of the parts to be recommended
However, to use in the town
