This depends a lot on the impact the helmet recieved when it was dropped. Dropping a helmet a short distance onto soft ground is very different to dropping it from a height onto concrete. If a helmet has had an impact, it can be enough to develop cracks in the foam which can be invisible - these cracks could potentially effect how your helmet performs when it is needed.If you are in doubt, have the helmet checked or just replace it,

Yes! Even a slight knock on the head can cause cracks to the protective foam in the helmet. Cracks and internal damage to the helmet can be hard to see, if in any doubt, replace your helmet.

Helmets are easy to forget about, we wash our kit every ride, what about helmets? Even in winter, helmets get sweaty. In summer they can get very sweaty. Clean the inside of your helmet with a mild soapy water solution to keep it from getting whiffy, it might also stop the flies which seem to follow you on your summer rides...
