KMC X10 chain
  • 10 speed lightweight chain.
  • Top perfomance at a budget price point.
  • 114L.
  • Silver/grey finish.
  • Campag, Shimano & SRAM compatible
Don't have enough miles to know for sure, but seems to have all the traits I've grown to love about my X11 chains. We upgraded my fiancé's bike from 8 to 10 speed, and went with this based on my experience with KMC's X11s. No complaints yet, it's KMC quality at a bargain price!
"When only the best will do". Have been using KMC for years. Well priced for a product that will never let you down. You can pay more for other 'well known' brands. Why do so!!
As usual a great quality chain with easy to use quick link at a great price.
Always prefer KMC chains compared to Shimano. The ability to remove it completely to clean because of the reusable split link is always a winner imo
KMC chain 10 speed that is smooth and easy to put on my bike replacing the old worn out chain.. Excellent.
I am an all year round rider and commuter. These are great long lasting chains.
I'm getting good shifting from this chain, cannot speak for durability yet. The quick links make cleaning easy.
My Roubaix came with KMC chains and I tend to buy them as they work just as well as the SRAM PC1051 and XT HG95 chains. Personal preference really as there's nothing between them.
Good soild chain. Used many times and always go back to this chain. Quick link that comes with very easy to fit
Lovely product. Like the split link, so easy to fit.
I have many bikes and it seems like I have had to change the chain in them all within the space of a couple of weeks. I check my chains regularly and as soon as they go to .75 stretched they go. I have been buying this as my go to chain based on value/quality and bought this as a spare. I like to keep a small stock of parts in my car as I go away a lot during summer with my bike and never want to be stuck without it due to a mechanical.
I have started using the 93 series chains in both 10 and 11 speed in all my bikes as I reckon they offer just about the best value for quality v price. I can't say I notice much of a difference between this and other brands and given the high mileage I do there is no way I am spending 2-3 times as much just on a chain.
Excellent durable chain with handy power link. Quality.
I've put around 250 miles on this chain now, still performing great. Recommended.
Great chain at a good price used these before and get plenty of miles out of them
These have been my go to chain for the last 2 years. They are well priced, durable and shift well. I use them on my MTB and cyclocross bikes.
Comes with a quick link, and they are the best quick links in the market, robust chain, an upgrade from the shimano offering, having used both ultra and dura ace level chains in the past.
Been using these KMC chains for years not had any issues missing link is very useful much better than SRAM I was using before
Durable chain with removable reusable "missing link." The missing link is great for removing the chain for cleaning which you need to do often when riding gravel trails and connectors in the moist fall, winter, and spring seasons.
Heavy, but looks more durable than the SRAM offerings I have ran in the past.
Nice chain at a great price. I ride KMC chains on my road, touring, cross country, and bikepacking bikes and have had very good service with them.
Value for money, durable, shift well, easy to fit
I always use KMC chains now, they last longer than other major brands IMO
Just changed from SRAM to KMC chains. These chains appear to be just as good quality as SRAM but cost less. They change gear smoothly and run just, if not more, silently.
This appears to be a good value chain and highly regarded in terms of durability in my road/touring club. Time will tell if it lasts longer than the SRAM equivalent on my other (road) bike though.
I always buy KMC chains and never had a problem with them.
Easy to install. Works like a charm. Recommended.
This chain doesn't rust easily , and lasting over 4000km. Great value for money.
Easy to fit, I have used KMC chains for years with no issues.
Great value chain that just keeps going!
KMC chains are the best, with their reusable master link for easy removal cleaning is much easier and more efficient.
Excelent training chain 2500k+ in wet conditions 3500, in dry.
Yup, I'm still on 10 speed for MTB. You can pay lots for a chain, but they are all disposable items. This KMC gives me the best 'bang for buck'. Chains are a surprising weakspot for Shimano. They'll have to do better on durability and add a 'missing link' (He He) if they want to entice me away from KMC for chains.
A good dependable, everyday chain, I went away from the X10-L as these seem to wear slightly quicker, I think the weight reduction also reduces durability.
Incredible deliver. Not overly packaged. Have used these chains before with good results. Quick link is so easy to use. Great service.
I changed to KMC chains a few years back they last forever provided you look after the transmission keep it clean and do what it says on the packet, best chain I've used.
Pleased with This chain, great price from Merlin cycles. Nice and quick to set up with the quick link. Early signs are that it shifts very smoothly with an ultegra set up. Only time will tell for its longevity
Strong reliable chain that shifts well and lasts a long time. What else is there to say?
KMC make the best chains full stop, they actually make other manufacturers chains too as they're that good. Of all the chains I've used KMC's lasted the longest when correctly maintained. Comes complete with a KMC missing link too which are great for easy removal. Perfect.
Great chains. This is my second. Clean up well and stay nice and shiny througout its life. Length is perfect without adjustment. Powerlink works well. Shifts smooth with XT and SLX parts. No need to pay anymore for a high quality durable chain. Recommend this chain
High Quality product, very smooth on the drive gears
At the end of the day a chain is there to do a job and this one does it well. It's quiet, smooth and shifts nicely. Sure you could spend a lot more and buy a lighter one, but really why bother, and all the lightweight ones I've tried I've broken....
Great substitute for shimano, chain link works well compared to using shimanos joining pin
I find it to be the strongest and longest lasting chain and being 20st I put some torque through chains!
Great chain, runs quietly and went on without any problem. This is my second KMC chain, the last one did 4,000 miles before it was at 0.75
Great value chain from KMC, smooth shifting, ideal for Cyclo Cross.
Always use KMC chains on all my bikes as they provide the est quality/value ratio and seem to run smoother than others. This was for my winter bike... I upgrade to a lighter model for my best 11spd bike!
I always use kmc chains because they are so reliable and run sweet as a nut. Merlin best price and service on the web.
Good so far had problems with other makes snapping ie SRAM & SHIMANO
You wont find a better chain for the price! Run smoothly with any brand of drive chain. Love KMC powerlinks (but save yourself a headache and buy the special tool to remove them). For your 'best bike' go for the next model up for a lighter 'blingier' bit of kit!
Strong reliable chain that doesn't hit the bank too hard. Used to get higher end chains but have come to realise its a bit pointless as their weight reduction often reduces robustness. Found KMC to be super reliable with my SRAM and Shimano groupsets.
To be honest I've never used a KMC chains before (originally used Shimano but they kept on exploding and then SRAM but the Power links always give me grief)so KMC it was! First impressions: light, strong and the power links work! Great price and arrived very quickly from Merlin so highly recommended.
Never had a problem with KMC chains. Quicklink makes it easy to remove and clean.
The best ten speed chain I have ever used I have tried all the other makes and KMC wins my vote every time, the quick link makes chain removal for cleaning etc easy.
Runs very nicely, smooth silent gear changes and could not be easier to fit and remove from the bike thanks to the missing link.
Nice chain very easy to fit on Shimano system - the connecting link is very simple compared to inserting a rivet. KMC seem to do a chain to suit all scenarios and needs...great service from Merlin. Thanks
Purchased as a like for like replacement on a winter bike. Both strong and light, I've never experienced a problem with these chains in 1,000's of miles of riding. The 'quick link' allows for tool-free removal and replacement of the chain. These are so easy to operate, even on a dirty chain, that I find it just as easy to whip the chain off for cleaning than it would be to clean it in situ. Thus, prolonging the life of the chain and gears. Another manufacturer would really have to come up with something special before I'd consider switching brands.
Much superior to Shimano chains, for ease of fitting and removal for cleaning.
KMC chains are now my default choice. I'm a big ring grinder and can get through Shimano MTB chain in 500 miles and a Shimano Road chain in 800!!! I get double the distance with KMC - this one is no different.
Tried shimano, sram, and wipperman. these last longer than shimano, break less than sram, and have better quick links than wipperman. Dont waste your money on anything else.
Very good quality chain - strong and light. Can take it through the worst mud and it cleans up to new every time. Tool free installation.
Its a ten speed chain. Its made by KMC and these last me much better than sram (which always seem to snap) or shimano (which persist in using that rubbish pin to link em up). Get one. Or three.
A consistent performer. My previous one lasted just under 2,000 mile of all-weather commuting. My current one is up to 1,800 and I've just bought another to replace it when the time comes. Dependable and relatively easy to fit, though I do sometimes struggle with closing the `quick release' link. And I've *never* managed to open it again.
Excellent chain, very quiet, durable and good value.
Bought this chain to replace an already worn KMC X10 chain, why change? A great chain that last 1000km+. Exactly as described and delivered 'next' day.
I always use KMC chains as I've never had one fail, unlike shimano... These are good work horse chains and I use them for MTB'ing, not worth getting anything posher really.
Bought this chain for my third bike, all my bikes now have them! So much stronger than the tat Shimano sell and comes with a 'quick link' for quick & easy installation. Super fast delivery as usual too from Merlin
Solid dependable chain at a reasonable price seem to last longer than shimano and sram chains and comes swith an easy push release link.
I bought this for a new bike build because KMC have a good reputation for long life (and KMC chains are on all three of my bikes). The chain was supplied 'loose' in a sealed plastic wrapper, not the normal retail packaging. Fitting the "missing link" was difficult and when I finally got it engaged the link was stiff. A little bit of lateral flexing sorted that out and it is now running fine - I don't relish the prospect of removing it in a hurry though. I have only done a couple of rides so far but it runs just fine, as I would expect. My next chain will also be a KMC.
The 'missing link' on these chains is great. It recommends special pliers to remove it, but it can be done with your bare hands and a bit of grunt.
I have used KMC chains for some time now and find them value for money. Quality is not sacrificed. Excellent delivery time from Merlin (as usual)
Good quality and decent value, good that it comes with quicklink (can br tricky to undo like most others)
I recently switched to KMC chains from SRAM and Shimano. They are quieter are stronger than both of the other makes.
Excellent chain, power link make joining the chain very easy, I have used KMC chains for several years, they last a good while with out any problems.
Excellent product, easy to fit thanks to the speed link, lasts longer than any similar SRAM or shimano product....
I have used this make/model of chain on another bike and it shifts very well and treated correctly seems to have a good life span. Not only were MC the best price i could find the delivery was super quick - ordered 3.15pm and it arrived 9am the following morning !!!
Nice chain! I replaced with this chain my older Miche in my Campagnolo groupset and this chain fits perfectly! I liked too because KMC include the missing link in your chains, I didn't need to buy another missing link. About Merlin, this store is very nice! My first choice!
Great chain, I use KMC chains on all my drivtrains, suitable for SRAM or Shimano.
Good chains, used them for years now, good for campagnolo drive trains, shifts good and narrow, supplied with quick link which is good.
I ride South Pennines where the mud is like a grinding paste that eats chains for breakfast. This is the first time I have used KMC and I won`t be going back. Its lasted 30% longer than the SRAM and Shimano offerings. Its quiet, transfers power and shift seamlessly.
I use KMC chain as my standard chain purchase. I check chain wear frequently and KMC chains seem to have an extended mid life wear band before eventually stretching to NOK condition. The link is easy to use for chain removal & 100% dependable. I have not found a better buy.
I use kmc on my best bike which runs beautifully with campag, so I decided to change from Sram for my daily bike. Chain is great for shifting front and back and runs nice and quiet with the bonus of being able to remove if it gets really dirty. Great price from Merlin as usual.
This was a replacement for another chain exactly the same, excellent value for money
Only had one outing with this chain but it was easy to fit and runs very quiet. Changes gear nicely as well
Quality at a great price
Good long lasting chains
Excellent chain with quick release which is a must in my opinion and cheaper than anywhere else. Quick delivery too.
The service from Merlin was very fast and efficient - as it normally is. The chain itself was a doddle to fit, similar to the SRAM quick link chain, and so far has proved to be smooth running and slick shifting. I fitted a new cassette and chain ring at the same time to my 2x10 Stumpjumper and am very pleased with the overall improvement compared to the OE supplied components. So far so good.
Does what it's meant to do. Works well with XT set-up and the shifting has remained smooth and precise..
This is my go to 10 speed chain on all my bikes - great value, tough and easy to install/remove. Copes OK even with our stupidly dusty environment which shortens the life of all chains regardless of brand. The quick link means almost no chance of chain breakage compared to the pins...and at the end of the day it's easy to remove the chain for a damn good clean if required. Especially if you've invested in the pliers!!
Great quality chain, without paying the earth. Who needs more?
Long lasting and good value
Would recommend this product to anyone and very pleased with the delivery and product.
I have purchased many road bike components from Merlin Cycles and all transactions have gone very well, a superb company to deal with.
Great price and superb delivery
Comes with a quick link that can be reused, unlike other brands. Wears well. Right price too.
A great value in a lightweight, strong, reliable component. KMC is the standard in chains. Set it and forget it.
Excellent chains, I fit these to all my bikes. They wear better than SRAM and the link mechanism is far simpler than shimano. Consistently the best price at Merlin.
good looking chain and glides like silk over cassette
Very good quality and easy to install, great value for money so will be buying another in the future
Always used shimano or mavic chains in the past but thought i would try KMC which have good reviews. Early days but so far so good. Nice smooth shifts. Only time will tell if it lasts longer than other brands.
Seems a decent quality chain - if anything it offers a smoother gear change experience than the original Shimano chain it replaced (on a Shimano drivetrain / Truvativ chainset). Durability of previous KMC chains on MTBs has been good - no reason to believe this would be different. Quick link was very easy to use.
It's a chain nuff said, good price.
This is my first KMC chain, and I'm a convert!. It works as well as any chain, but the reason that I'll be using these from now on is that the quick-link can be removed and replaced for maintenance. For some reason the 10-speed SRAM power-lock link is not replacable.
Very easy to fit. No additional tools or parts required. World renowned quality. Very good value.don't skimp on chain maintainance.
I've had this chain for about 50 miles and feels nice and smooth. Comes with a split link for eazyish removal. Arrived next day :-)
Quality chain at a great price delivered in record time. Can't fault it
It's a chain. Does what it should
KMC make some of the best chains around in my opinion - I use them 9 & 10 speed on mtb and road bikes. This one is plated and just doesn't rust no matter how much abuse it gets. Very long lasting and a shifting quality as good as Shimano. The quick-connect links are great.
Good quality, easy installation with the conneting link.
