    Mountain bike (MTB) cassettes

Mountain bikes cassettes are getting bigger. They've always been bigger than road bike cassettes but now we have single chainring drivetrains the sprocket size has gone massive! The larger a cassette sprocket the easier gear ratio available. Mountain bikers are less concerned with having close ratios, they're more interested in having broad range of gears, especially when climbing. A cassette is the name for the bunch of gear sprockets on the rear wheel. It's the number of sprockets on a cassette that denote how many speeds a bike has ie. 9,10 or 11 speed. We stock cassettes from the two main players: Shimano and Sram.
