Fitted 2 of these to cope with the winter mud. Excellent upgrade for me. I've fitted them tubeless and had no problems so far. Great mud clearance from tread due to open pattern. Bit pricey, but excellent bit of kit if you can afford.
Changed my Racing Ralph front for one of these now the mud has arrived. Much better, especially off centre grip in corners. Rolls surprisingly well for such an open tread pattern. Major effort to get off my Stans rims. Pricey but worth it imho
I bought this tyre to replace a Hans Dampf which had been on my rear for last few months
The grip is not far off the Hans Dampf but noticeably faster rolling which helped on the climbs .
Early days but my initial thoughts are very positive, I bought a Nobby Nic for the front and a Racing Ralf for the rear, to replace my balding Rocket Rons. Setting up tubeless with Stans was relatively pain free, the tip is to put the tyre on the rib with a tube overnight to shape before converting to tubeless. Running both tyres at 35psi, we have had a bit of rain recently so the ground is soft but the tyres gripping well on hill climbs and into berms.
Excellent service from Merlin, shipped to Oz in 7 days.
Reasonably heavy at 700g but not bad considering the 29er size and aggressive tread.
Went up tubeless very easily too, so overall very pleased.
Great all grounder tyres. I have them on my hardtaill 26er and they really grip well. So decided to put some on my 29er for the winter. :) Great product, superb price from merlin. :)
What can I say it does it all what ever the weather, also they make you feel safe when cornering fast.
NN 29er are as good as the 26 NN tyres...fast rolling with a great grip.
Great in wet weather, but could not get to bed as a tubless - think this is more of a rim issue than the tire
